WHEN SHOULD YOU THROW OUT A POWER SAW? I've had a bad defect in my table saw for a while now...but recently it's gotten worse. This week on The Honest Carpenter, I talk about what happened to two of my saws, and why I've made the decision to get rid of them!

Power saws are expensive, and therefore the decision to get rid of one is not easy. But there are certain defects that I think just can't be dealt with.

For instance, my table saw has developed a prolonged BLADE ALIGNMENT ISSUE. The arbor/blade mount is slightly bent, which causes the cut to open up a bit at the back.

This problem gets compounded when I BEVEL the table saw blade. The blade kerf draws the board away from the fence badly at the back of the cut. This results in a flared cut--and it's also dangerous!

Blade alignment can be adjusted, but the table saw tends to walk itself back. For that reason, I probably have to get rid of it.

Also, my circular saw fell off a table and got pranged on the concrete floor. Now the blade guard won't operate smoothly--it gets trapped in the upper housing and won't spring back. This is a NO-GO ISSUE for me! I have to get rid of it.

When would you get rid of a power saw? Let me hear about it in the comments!

Thanks for watching!
