This Ugly Homemade Desk Had a Lead Secret

This piece was a challenge, alright. I had issues with the humidity and my paint and topcoat drying, found lead paint on the drawer, which I opted to remove in case an owner down the road tried to sand it off not knowing it was lead (due diligence).

In the end.. I'm not sure if I ended up with a swan... more like a fancy chicken, but I'm happy that it's saved from a landfill and has a new life. I could totally see this in a teen's bedroom for some reason! I wasn't super happy with the two-tone paint, but after all the headache of doing this flip, I was not repainting it. Haha. And it's one of those things where the more I look at it, the more I do like it. :-)
