Hi Bold Bakers! As you can see my husband is Kevin. My husband is Kevin.
I am Kevin.
Hi Bold Bakers! As you can see Kevin my husband is here with me today because we've got some
exciting new mug recipes for you. And these mug recipes have a particular
festive twist because they're holiday mug cookies. And because I have a baking buddy today I thought
why not show you how to make holiday mug cookies for two. So let's get micro-baking.
So a few weeks ago we shared a video with you of how myself and Kevin met on Match.com.
In the video we showed footage of our wedding, our engagement, some of our first dates. So it
was really a lot of fun so make sure you go check it out. So Match really liked our story and they
want to give you Bold Bakers the chance to find your perfect match. So right now they're offering
you a free seven day trial for Match.com. All you have to do is go to Match.com forward slash
Gemma1 and start your free trial today. We found our perfect matches and we think you can too,
it really works. Try it out, you've got nothing to lose. Okay, we start our cookies? Let's do it!
Our first recipe is a festive sugar cookie in a mug. In a microwaveable mug we're going to add in
melted butter, white sugar, and an egg yolk. And then mix these all together. You know what I like
about holiday baking? We get to have like really festive little spatulas and stuff like that.
Absolutely, all sorts of good things. Now if you don't eat eggs, you can always find Gemma's egg
substitutes on BiggerBolderBaking.com, right? Yep, and also the recipes for these mugs can be found
on there too. Okay, let's add in our dry ingredients. Into this mix we're going to add in
some flour, a pinch of salt, and some festive sprinkles. And then mix all these ingredients
together. Okay, these are all mixed up. The thing I love about these recipes is they take no time at
all. Now these little guys are ready for the microwave. Let's do it! Cook each off separately
for roughly 45 seconds to a minute. Now this timing is based on my microwave which is 1200
watts, so check the wattage of your microwave because your timing may vary. So we love Christmas,
and every year we send out Christmas cards that we do together. We're kind of Christmas nerds,
and we dress up, we even dress waffles up. One year we wrapped ourselves in Christmas lights,
do you remember that? Yes, and those sweaters are actually ours. Yep, we own those. No apologies.
So that ding means that our microwave cookie is done, and it looks and smells amazing. What
do you think, Kevin? Looks great! So I'm going to decorate this with a little bit of buttercream
frosting on top, and then of course some festive sprinkles, because you know me and my festive
sprinkles. Never have too much. Gorgeous. Alright, let's dig in. I like to eat them when they're
still warm. Oh my gosh, that's a mouthful. That frosting on top, seriously, Christmas has come
early, Kevin. It has, and the thing is you don't even have to make a whole batch, you can actually
just make two to enjoy. Or you can make four or six. Okay Kevin, let's move on to our next cookie.
Let's do it. So what's up next? Next up is a delicious gingerbread cookie in a mug. In a
microwaveable mug, add in your melted butter, brown sugar, and egg yolk. And then mix these
ingredients together. I love brown sugar in cookies because it kind of gives them a sort
of a caramel kind of a flavor, doesn't it? Really warm and toasty. Yeah, that's what this cookie
has. Okay, lovely. Now into this we're going to add in our dry ingredients. Add in flour, cinnamon,
ginger, and a pinch of salt. And then mix all these ingredients together. Ooh, I love that
cinnamony smell. Yeah, I have to admit, I think this is one of my most favorite Christmas cookies.
Okay, these guys are ready for the microwave. Cook each one individually for roughly 45 seconds
to a minute. So each year we get our Christmas tree around four or five blocks from our house.
So we walk down to get it, thing about it is we have to drag it back home again. And the thing is,
even though it's December in Los Angeles, it's about 80 degrees Fahrenheit, so it's definitely
a trek. Yeah, it's a sight to be seen, that's for sure. There is no doubt about it, but it smells
like the holidays in here, doesn't it? Oh, it does. It's so nice. Oh, man. So here I have a little bit
of cinnamon sugar. I'm just going to sprinkle that on top because you often see gingerbread
cookies with cinnamon sugar, don't you? A little bit of that. And then my favorite accompaniment,
some vanilla ice cream on top. And then I'm just going to put a little Christmas decoration,
totally edible and very pretty. And there you have it, a gingerbread cookie in a mug. Okay,
Kevin, I think I saved our very best one until the end. I think you did. It is a hot chocolate
cookie in a mug. Into the microwaveable mug, add in your melted butter, white sugar, brown sugar,
and egg yolk. And then mix these all together. So just like before, into our buttery-sugary mix,
we're going to add in some flour, cocoa powder, and a little pinch of salt. And then stir it all
together. Okay, how's yours mixed up? Looking good. Okay, lovely. Do you know what? I probably
think that I eat the most amount of chocolate around the holidays. Definitely. And did you
know that the Irish actually eat more chocolate than anybody else in the world? These guys are
ready for the microwave. Cook each off individually for roughly 45 seconds to a minute. So even though
we don't have any kids, we do spoil our dog waffles this time of year. Yeah, we absolutely
do. He has a Christmas sweater. He gets lots of toys from Santa. He has a little Christmas
stocking that says naughty or nice on each side, which to be fair, most of the time he's kind of
naughty. He is. And in no time at all, another microwave mug cookie is ready to be decorated.
Now of course, we can't have a hot chocolate cookie without marshmallows on top, so I'm
gonna sprinkle a few on there. Now one thing you can do is pop this back into the microwave and
let those marshmallows soften up for around like 15 seconds or so. Or you can always use a kitchen
torch just to toast them. That'll work well too. That looks just like hot cocoa, but it's better
because it's a cookie. Want to give it a try? Let's do it. Oh my gosh, I love this. Oh yeah.
You've got some marshmallows in there, Kev. Nice. These three festive holiday cookies are even more
reason to celebrate this holiday season. So here's what I want you to do. Head over to
match.com forward slash Gemma one and take advantage of the seven day free trial. We found
our perfect match and we think you will too. Thank you so much for watching and we'll see
you back here really soon for more Bigger Bolder Baking. Cheers, Kev. Cheers. You're
throwing me off because you're kind of looking at me and then stop looking at me. What's that?
