How to Train a Dangerous, Dominant Horse
Dominant horses may use aggressive or intimidating behaviors including forcing their handler, tossing or even biting a rider.
In this video, professional horse trainer Clinton Anderson helps a frightened owner gain respect and control over her dangerous and dominant horse - Jetta. As long as you use the proper horse training techniques, you can actually train any problematic horse in the world.
To do this, you need to CHANGE your tactics and discipline this horse in a way it understands. And when say DISCIPLINE, I mean the PHYSICAL type.
No horse will ever learn to behave when threatened only with meaningless VOCABULARIES or a TIME OUT session. You may have to apply some "tough love" at first, but once he understands you're not easily persuaded, there's not much you can do to maintain your good relationship.
He needs to start controlling the horse by moving her feet left, right, backwards, and forwards. When he approaches her, he trains the horse to look at him and give him two eyes. After the horse is safely stopped, Clinton's next objective is to work with her in the roundpen to gain her respect and develop control over her feet.
Finally, when he’s earned Jetta’s respect and trust, she started to want to follow him around the pen and wanted to be his partner.
