Additionally, chimney liners make fireplace maintenance simpler and increase the appliance's energy efficiency.
Main Steps:
1. Spread out canvas drop cloths to cover the floor in front of the fireplace then use an electric chipping hammer to remove some brick from the fireplace's back wall.
2. Utilizing an extension shaft and an electric drill, scrub the inside of the chimney flue.
3. Put the stainless steel liner into the chimney starting from the roof and feed it all the way down to the fireplace.
4. Attach the mesh base plate after bringing the flexible liner into the space.
5. Have an assistant on the roof. The mesh base plate should be flattened with a rubber mallet from inside the fireplace after the chimney liner has been raised to the proper height.
6. Screw the mesh base plate to the fireplace walls.
7. Mix a mortar in a 5-gallon bucket using a drill and mixing paddle.
8. Cover the mesh base plate inside the fireplace with mortar. Using a paintbrush, smear the mortar.
9. Replace the bricks that were originally removed from the fireplace's back wall.
10. Insulation that has been poured in should be well mixed with a little water.
11. With a trowel, smooth the top of the mixed insulation after spreading it all around the chimney liner.
12. Put high-temperature silicone sealant between the stainless steel top plate and the chimney liner before sliding it over.
13. To fasten the top plate to the liner, tighten the hose clamp.
14. Install a top-sealing damper on the chimney liner's upper end. Drop the cable into the fireplace and down the liner.
