Hello guys, welcome to my new video.
Today I decided to speak about how I started and how it all went.
How I got an idea to start all to all this and my story.
So, well, one little part of guilty goes to my parents, because when I was only one year
old, they brought me with them to Austria, to Hungary, to Slovenia.
So I started to travel from young age.
And they would take me everywhere with them.
So every summer we used to take road trips around Croatia, around the coast, at least for two weeks or for one month.
Depends on a year.
And during the year we were doing also some little short trips.
I remember once I just decided a day before that I will start a trip with my father.
So we went in 10 days to seven different towns.
And that was in Easter time, I think seven years ago, something like that.
So I'm more for that kind of trips like we deal today, we go tomorrow and that's it.
No need to think a lot and to do a lot.
But as I'm older, I also prefer to think about my trips in advance and to prepare well, especially
if I'm traveling to another country, to a new town where I don't know anything and I
don't know anyone.
So I prefer to be prepared.
Right now I'm not traveling full time.
Well, depends on the part of the year when I travel full time, when I travel part time.
And depends also what I'm doing in that moment.
So in 2013, when I was 18 and in Croatia with 18, we are able to travel to other countries
without permission of our parents and alone.
So I decided to travel with my friend.
In that time, she broke up with her boyfriend two months before our trip, something like that.
So she just contacted me one day and said that she needs to go somewhere, she needs
to do something.
So we decided to do a trip.
It was my first time that I was doing a trip outside of the country with my friend and
without my parents.
So we went to Vienna, if I remember well, to Vienna and Bratislava for three days, I think.
So it was two new countries, two new towns and three days on the road on our own.
So it was nice experience.
It was Christmas time, I remember, it was in December.
Wintertime, cold outside, but also a warm, hot wine.
Warm, hot wine, oh my God.
What a sentence.
So yeah, hot, hot red wine, I wanted to say.
So we spent three days there and then I just decided that I want to travel for the rest
of my life.
Even if that means to travel once in three months or two times per year, but something
longer.
So the next trip was only two months later, I think.
It was in February when we visited Venice for the famous carnival.
And that was the worst trip ever that I remember in my life.
I think that was the worst one because it was already 2014.
It was raining so hard, the water was all over the streets.
We were so wet and your umbrella, it didn't mean anything.
So we were so wet, we were so angry and it was wet only for one day, so we needed to
come back to Croatia.
So wet, so...
And you don't enjoy a lot, you don't take a lot of pictures, you don't buy anything,
you're not in the mood to eat or to drink something.
Because first you feel so close, so close to your home, but so cold, so wet and everything.
So I could say that that was the worst trip ever in my life.
Then, the next trip came, I think three, four months later.
I think it was the end of May when we went to Budapest for also three or four days,
our first connection with Budapest.
And we didn't manage to see all and we were actually not angry about it, but disappointed
because our guide didn't show us a lot of the city.
We had a feeling that we were just running all over and that we didn't see anything.
So after that, two months later, we decided to do a totally opposite thing.
You know, in summer, especially here in Croatia, all the people are traveling to the coast.
So we decided to make something opposite and to travel to Sarajevo in Bosnia
and to spend also, I think, four days there.
It was the longest ride ever in my life.
We went with a bus and we had a really nice time there.
But the fact is that later we found out that we were in the most dangerous part of Sarajevo,
that our hotel was in that area.
And so we heard it from the local people later.
But to be honest, we didn't feel scared and nothing bad happened to us during that four days.
And we didn't feel like uncomfortable or unsafe.
But we also didn't find stories about the dangerous part,
because this part of the Balkans countries, we don't take, let's say, so seriously or dangerous.
So we didn't even think of looking for something like that and to prepare for something like that.
Then, what else was later?
I don't remember how it was exactly going later.
I remember that I stopped for some time, that I didn't travel so much.
And then in 2016 I decided that I need something bigger, a bigger change in my life.
So I decided to move to Malta.
If you were watching my previous videos, you know that I did my Erasmus in Malta.
I remember that I sent 500 emails all over Europe.
Nobody wanted to take us.
Only one guy from Brussels, I think he wanted to take us, but we wanted to go to the beach because it was summer.
And the people from Portugal and Spain didn't want us, because at that time I didn't speak Spanish or Portuguese.
But we were so excited about Malta that we wanted to go there.
And it was really hard to find a job and Erasmus practice in Malta, because nobody was responding.
So finally we found two weeks, I think, or three weeks before we needed to go.
And we decided that we are moving to Malta.
I spent there four months.
And that's when the people asked me where I felt like home, where I felt the best from all the trips that I take.
I would say always Malta.
And it will always have some special part of my travel life in general.
I don't know why, but that four months were really nice.
Maybe it could be because I'm a summer person and I like summer and the beach.
Maybe it could be because of that, I don't know.
Maybe it could be about the people that were there at that time, the people that we were connected to, our friends and our roommates.
I don't know, but that was the best trip that I ever took, the best part of my travel life.
And later I just started with other countries, especially with Germany.
Then I moved to Spain for one year.
And while I was in Spain, I visited Portugal.
So the next...
After Malta, I would say that I love Porto a lot.
I was amazed with Porto and Portugal in general, but especially with Porto.
And all the people say that Porto is better than Lisbon.
I cannot say that because I still didn't visit Lisbon.
But I think that Porto has definitely something special also to me and to all other people, so that I can agree with that.
And later I won't now talk about all my trips that I take.
But I wanted to say that in 2016, when I came back from Malta, I decided to put all my stories in one place.
To make some kind of blog.
And I started blogging.
Then I started to connect with other bloggers.
And I was thinking how to make money from it.
So I started to connect with hotels.
I started to stay in the hotels.
And instead of that, I got a few free nights in the city.
And later I was giving speeches in some libraries, in the universities.
And I was in one TV show.
And later on the radio.
So that's basically it.
How I started.
It all started with Malta.
When I got some kind of... I don't know how to even call it.
Like some kind of feeling when you know that you just want to do it.
And that you want to do it for the rest of your life.
How long I will be doing it, I don't know.
Now I started to be committed more to my YouTube channel.
And to share more stories with you.
How long it will last also, I don't know.
Until I have a wish and until you're watching, I'm here.
So we will see what time brings.
And that would be basically it.
My story about how I started it all.
About some other things, what I was working, what I am working.
I will speak in some other video and in some new that are coming.
For today I just wanted to share with you how it all started.
And that would be it.
