Online teaching - English language - Native Camp

Hello guys, welcome to my new video. Today I decided to speak with you about NativeCam. I don't know if you already heard about it. It's a Japanese company and you teach students English online. So, what's the catch? If you want to teach English and you want to do it from your comfort zone, you can be whenever you want in the world, you can do whatever you want, well, basically, not whatever you want, and you want to make some extra money or this can also be your only source of money. It's a good way to start or if you just graduated and you know where to start where you could teach English in DC, so NativeCam can be a good start. Okay, it's a Japanese company, online platform, where do you teach your students. What I like the most about it, first, you don't have to have a university degree in English language, you don't have to be a native speaker, and you can only have a certificate, you know, and also they prefer to have at least some kind of certificate in English, so be aware of that. Then, the first thing, like when you're applying, you will also have a referral name, so you put another tutor email, so you can get a bonus of $41, this also varies from 21 to 41, depends from which country you are, in Croatia we get $41 for each person, so more about bonuses and about tricks in another video. So today, and when you apply there, you first need to pass an English test, and after passing the test, you will have your system check, so you will have to, they will check from the platform, is your microphone good, is your headset good, and is your camera good. So, and you can teach with basic headphones from your phone, but they prefer, you know, the gamer ones, I also have gamers ones, but about it also in another video, where I will give some advices, which headset is the best for teaching online. Okay, let's move next. So, after that, after you pass the system check, you will have to do a demo lesson. What is a demo lesson? Demo lesson is a lesson, where you have somebody from company, who pretends to be your student. You will get all the materials, all the videos, how your lesson should go, and you will need to do the same. So you will be a teacher, and you will have a student in front of you, of course, literally, so you will have to do a lesson. That's also good, because then you can see your teacher skills, and you can see, are you for that job, or you are not. So, after a demo lesson, you will complete your profile, they will ask you to upload your picture, and you will have to have a white background, nevermind, it's not white, but you will have to have a white background, and after uploading your profile, you are ready to start teaching. Ok, what I like about this company, is that all materials are provided by them, and each lesson, how you go, you have a lesson on the screen, and you are just following it, and you are learning your student at the moment. You have two kinds of classes, one are the sudden ones, and the second are the booked ones. So, the sudden class is when you go on the platform, on the standby mode, and student can book you in that moment. In Croatia, and in the Balkan countries, we earn 1.54 dollars per sudden class, and of course, it's better if you have a booked one, then it's 1.67 dollars, and when the student booked you, then you can see the lesson that you will have, and there's also an app for teachers, so you don't want it to your phone, and at any moment you can see, and you get a note, an email, when somebody booked you, so that you can be prepared. Also, for example, you make your own schedule, when you can work, when you cannot, we call it slots, so you open slots, and you can open 24, I think, that's the maximum, and when you open slots, the students can see you, but you cannot have a sudden class if you are not active at the moment, of course. Also, I like the schedule, it's flexible, I was speaking also with some Chinese schools, but they had some norms, you know, like, you have to work 4 days in a week, you have to have at least 10 classes, and also, the time was, I think, from 12 to 4 p.m., which was not good for me, because sometimes, maybe I can't work at the Monday, or ETC, so maybe sometimes I cannot work 4 days in a week, and it's not flexible, and what I didn't like about it, that you don't have any kind of real contract for that, so I was like, no, it's better, so I found a native camp, because schedule is totally flexible, today, if you don't want to work, you don't work, today, if you don't want to work 5 days in a row, you don't work, so you can work whenever you want, and how long do you want, for example, my record so far was to have 21 classes in one day, so, like that, I was able to say, like, ok, next 4 days, I don't want to work at all, that's what I like about it, also, for the teachers, you were able to teach only from your PC, and the students, they have more flexibility, they can also have a class with you over their phone, but for teachers, like, you have to have your PC, that's the difference. About the lessons, the lessons are simple, of course, you have complicated ones, and you are teaching grammar, pronunciation, you have listening classes, and the students can also choose a pre-talk, at pre-talk, they are free to talk about any topic that they like, and that they want to talk about, so, always let the students choose the topic, if they don't have one, usually you talk about travels, hobbies, their job, but also, you have a list of the things that you can say to students, ok, do you want to talk about this, for example, about the food, about the languages, about their culture, and that's mostly about it. Also, who are the students? The students are mostly people from Japan, from Vietnam, or Philippines, so far, I only had Japanese people, and the most common question, is there enough job? Yes, there is enough job, and there is enough students, and there is no, like, the best time to go and to teach, because some of them are over the Europe, you know, they moved abroad, and some of them are in United States, so, so far, I didn't have any problems, whenever I log in, I had someone. Also, what is important, that you smile always, that you try to explain and to do your best about the lesson, because the students, they are giving you the grades, and the platform counts last 100 grades, so that mark, that difference, is calculated in your profile, and students can see it. So, the highest grade you have, you will have more classes, of course, so the grades are from 1 to 5. And that would be it, more about bonuses and about tricks, I will explain you in another video.
