NORDSTROM HAUL! HOLIDAY/NYE STYLED OUTFIT IDEAS

Hey guys, welcome back to my channel, Hilary Alex. For those of you who are new, if you are returning, thank you so much for watching. I just wanna start off by saying thank you to Nordstrom for sponsoring today's video. I am so excited for this, you guys. It's gonna be such a good one. So I can't even believe that the words are coming out of my mouth that I am working with Nordstrom on today's video. They're a dream brand of mine to work with. I have loved them forever. I just love how all-encompassing the brand is. You can literally find anything for anyone, for yourself, for any occasion. Like, it's just, yes, you guys. Such a wonderful brand that offers so many services, one of them being what we're gonna be talking about in today's video, which is their styling services. So for those of you who don't know, Nordstrom offers styling services, which I always knew they offered in store, but I never knew that they offered the styling services online, which is incredible. It's a free service that anybody can use. I think it's perfect for the holiday season if you're looking for a gift for a loved one, for someone who's super difficult to shop for, or even for yourself, like, seriously. It was the most seamless, easy process that I've ever done, and it was so fun. It was just like chatting with a friend and getting style advice, but you know, it's completely objective and so honest. So what you do, and I'll show you guys everything that I did and the whole conversation that I had with my stylist, but what you do is you go on the styling services and you can browse different looks that the stylists curate, and you can go through and see what looks they're putting together and just see kind of what you're vibing with based off of what looks they've kind of curated. So that's what I did. I browsed all the looks, and then I based my final picks of stylists on ones that align most with, like, outfits that I would kind of pick out for myself, and a lot of pieces that I could see myself wearing, and I knew that was kind of my vibe, you know? I knew that if I was working with them and chatting with them that they would totally catch on to what I was trying to create and bring my concept to life. So once I narrowed down my stylists that I really liked, I messaged a few of them. One of them that got back to me I ended up really vibing with, and we chatted, messaged. I told her what I was looking for, what the outfit and the occasion is that I needed my stuff for, and she was able to totally help me put some looks together that are so spot on and so freaking cute. I can't wait to show you guys. So I just want to share with you guys why I personally wanted to use the styling services. As you guys know, I'm a mom to an almost two-year-old, and if you guys have children, you know how hard it is to go into stores and physically shop for anything when you have to bring your kids along with you. It just turns into a whole ordeal, and it's really hard to focus on yourself when you have your kid there and all the distractions, everything going on. I feel like it's always just a huge production. It ends up being super stressful, and I never end up actually buying things for myself because I hate the whole process of going into the stores and shopping. So usually, 99% of the time, I'm online shopping because it's the most convenient way for me to shop when Indy's napping, and I can just mindlessly scroll the internet and find things that I like online, have it shipped to me easy, right? So for me, the hard part about that and shopping online is that you don't always know what's gonna look best on you, what's gonna fit good for your body type. It's always just kind of like going in blind, receiving the items, and then you're having to return a bunch of stuff because it doesn't end up working for you. So sometimes, it ends up being a complete nightmare and not always working out the way that you envision it in your head. So what I really loved about the styling service was how easy it was. I could tell her my vibe, my vision, everything that I wanted, and she was like, here you go. Here's a bunch of options, and made it so easy for me to be like, oh, that's super cute, I want that. Can you find me some shoes? Send me a bunch of shoe options. Okay, I like that. And I put together an outfit so freaking easy. So being a mom and having my life revolve around Indy, it's really hard to make any time for myself. I'm sure a lot of you guys can relate to that. It's hard to keep my wardrobe updated. It's hard to stay on top of the trends. I'm on it when it comes to Indy's clothes. She's on the trends. She's got the cutest outfits, and then I'm always just in workout clothes because it's super easy and comfortable. However, I still believe that it is so important to feel confident and beautiful and put together when you're going out because when you look good, you feel good, right? So I feel like that's a huge goal of mine going into the next year is just really focusing on myself a little bit now that Indy's growing up and just realizing that it's still so important to take care of me. So by using the stylist services, I feel like that's such an amazing, effortless way to prioritize yourself, feel your best. And my stylist really made me feel super comfortable and confident in what she was picking for me. And then now that it's here and trying it on, the pieces, everything just made me feel really great in everything that I was wearing. The holidays are already super stressful enough as it is. The last thing that you wanna be stressing about is finding an outfit for a party, some sort of family gathering, a wedding, a New Year's Eve party, like anything that's coming up in this new year. Or if you're simply just looking for help to revamp a few pieces in your closet, like this is the best and easiest way to do so. So I personally was looking for a few special occasion outfits. If it was for like a holiday party that I was going to or a New Year's Eve party, I wanted a few really beautiful outfits that I could choose from. So I'll go ahead and read my conversation with the stylist and I'll put a screen recording up right here so you guys can see exactly what I'm talking about and how you would use it. I suggest downloading the Nordstrom app. It's the easiest way to go in and do this. So once you download your Nordstrom app, there's a little toggle at the bottom and you just push on the looks. And then once you're in the looks, you can just scroll down and start browsing through the stylist looks and just see if there's anything that you like, any looks that are calling to you. So once you're done exploring the looks, you would just hop over to your stylist in the top right corner and you can do the find a stylist and you can search for the stylist all right there and you can start the conversation. So I started a conversation with Michelle who I ended up working with and she was incredible. So I reached out to her and I let her know what kind of outfits that I was looking for and if she could help me, if she was interested. She said, can you please send me your sizes, your budget and a brief description of what you're looking for? Please include any colors or patterns you don't like and preference for dress or sleeve length. I think that was great that right off the bat, she asked me what my budget was so she wasn't sending me items that were too expensive that would get my hopes up and I wouldn't be able to purchase. She was knowing in her head exactly how much I was spending and sending me items that would all come together seamlessly. So she sent me all these dress options that were super cute and honestly, like I don't think I would ever pick these off for myself if I was browsing on my own. So seeing these dresses were like completely my style and something that I would wear but I would never like scroll past and be like, okay, I want that. Like I just didn't think of stuff like this on my own. So it was really fun to have a different perspective picking out items that I wouldn't have necessarily picked. So when she sent over dress options, she said, here are the dress options I selected for you. Let me know which one you like best or if you need more options and then I can match shoes and accessories for you to complete the look. So I told her which dresses I liked and then I voiced my concerns of the Reformation top maybe fitting my body type weird because I have bigger chested and the way that that top looked on the Reformation dress, I just wasn't sure if it would fit my body type. So I told her my cup size and I asked her if she thought it would work for my body type and she comes back and says, yes, I think it would work. I have a similar cup size and I have a similar style and it worked well. She sent me two different looks. So she sent me shoes to go with the Reformation dress which are all so freaking cute and then she sent a little jewelry option in there as well and then for the Elliott dress, she sent over a bunch of other shoe options which were all stunning and then one jewelry option but I ended up just going with the Chinese laundry little heel because I loved that it had a chunky heel but it still wasn't super tall and I knew they would be comfortable. So that was how the whole experience went down with her. Once we figured out which pieces I wanted, I went ahead and ordered them on my own and then they came in from Nordstrom's so quickly. Now I'm gonna be trying the looks on for you guys so you can kind of get an idea of how all the looks came together which are all stunning. So I'll quickly show you guys the pieces and then I'll show you them on. I'll do them for you. Okay, so this is the Elliott. I hope I'm saying that right but if not, it's fine. You guys understand. So this dress is absolutely beautiful. It is so pretty, like nothing that I would pick for myself but now that it's here, it is so, so beautiful. So this is a size extra small in the color sage. All of these pieces I'll link in the description box for you so if you like them and wanna shop them, it's super easy and accessible. So it has the long bell sleeves and then the beautiful button details going all the way up and then it cinches at the waist and then it comes down long and I'm pretty sure it's gonna hit right above the ankle. So super, super beautiful. I love this dress so much. So this would be a really good outfit for New Year's. I think the whole vibe is just really New Year's Eve. And then these are the shoes that I went with. So these are the little pumps from Chinese Laundry. It's like a cream color patent leather. So beautiful, just straps around the ankle. So I think this will look really, really pretty together. I'll go ahead and try it on so you guys can see. Okay, I feel so beautiful in this dress. Like so beautiful and confident. Like I can see myself hosting like a really bougie, elegant New Year's Eve party and this being the dress. I think it is so stunning. So pretty, you guys. Okay, so here's the dress in the full length mirror so you guys can see it. Better maybe than how I had the camera before. So it comes down, hits like right above the ankle. I'm obsessed. Like I've never felt more beautiful in a dress before. Like this is just stunning. So I'm so glad that I ended up going with this one. I would have looked at this online and just been like no and kept scrolling. I wouldn't have even considered it an option for something that I was looking for. So I love that I saw things in a different perspective coming from somebody else and being like, oh, okay, they think that'll look good. Maybe it will. So that's the thing too is I think it'll push you to try something that you normally wouldn't pick out for yourself and is stunning. So it's pushing you out of your comfort zone and making you feel beautiful in something that you necessarily wouldn't have picked out for yourself. And this is just perfect. I feel like this would really be good for a wedding or family photos, anything like that as well. So we're obsessed. I also really appreciate the shoes that she picked out. Knowing that I didn't want a super high heel, these are not super high and they're very, very comfortable. And like I said, I could wear these for other occasions as well. And I, again, wouldn't have picked these out to go with this dress ever. I don't even know what kind of shoe would go with this dress looking on my own. So yeah, pairing these two together was really, really good. Okay, so real quick, this is the dress from Reformation. So it's long, probably hits about the ankle again, has a slit going up the side, has the straight across neckline. The shoulders are also really pretty on this. And then in the back, it just looks like this and zips up right here. So this is also super stunning. And then I picked out these boots with what she had sent me. These are the Sam Edelman boots, which are gorgeous. They're so freaking pretty. So again, I would have never picked these boots to style with this dress. But once I saw them styled together, I was like, yes, that is it. So I love that again, she pushed me out of my comfort zone. And I think this is gonna look really, really beautiful together. Okay, so I have the dress from Reformation on. So she also picked out these little gold hoops from Madewell. And 100% my vibe, gold hoops in any size are just the only jewelry that I ever wear. So I love that. And she was completely right about the top. I am not wearing a bra right now and I still have plenty of room. I don't feel super constricted. The way that it looks on the model could definitely, I wouldn't have bought it for myself for that reason, being that it looked like it wouldn't fit my chest. So I'm so glad that I had the styling services and her input to tell me that, no, that it would work on my body type because I'm in love with this dress, in love with it. Everything about it is just 100% my style. I feel comfortable and confident in it because it is my vibe 100%. And I'm just so stoked that she picked this one out. I'll show you guys in the full length mirror so you can see what it looks like on. Okay, here's the dress. Like everything about it is so insanely flattering. I love the neckline, the shoulders, how it comes super close to the edge of your shoulder, I think is just really stunning. The sleeve length is perfect. The slit is really, really flattering. I'm not showing you guys my cuca. It just kind of wraps, gives that little wrapped effect. And then it comes down and splits right here. So it would hit a little bit above the ankles and these are the Sam Edelman boots. So they're like a brown suede. I could wear these in so many different ways beyond this dress, which is so key when you're investing in any kind of shoe. You wanna make sure that you're gonna get your wear out of them and it's not just a one-time deal. I love how this whole look came together. I think it's just very like boho and effortless and still like very classy. Again, I feel so confident and beautiful all thanks to my stylist. Again, this outfit could be worn for so many different occasions. It could be worn to a wedding, any kind of holiday party, like whatever. Honestly, it's so versatile. Like it could definitely be worn during the day with like some sneakers too, with a really cute jacket. So stunning. I have a work Christmas party to go to on Tuesday. So I think I'm gonna wear this there. It's all of the instructors that work at my Pilates studio but we're getting blessed and doing like a little blessing ceremony. So she said wear a long dress cause we're sitting on the floor. So I think this is gonna be perfect for that. Okay guys, so those are my two completed looks. I couldn't be more in love with how both of them turned out. I was hoping for at least one good one but to have both of them turn out to look perfect on my body type and for me to feel so comfortable and confident in both of them, like she just hit it out of the park. Like everything was beautiful and stunning and so complimentary to what I asked for, what I was looking for. And I could also take these pieces and wear them so many other different ways which I can really appreciate cause when you're investing in things you wanna be able to get your use out of them. So I really love the attention to detail and just how easy and effortless the whole process was. Like I, from start to finish, it maybe took like two days because it took me a while to get back to her every time she was messaging me but once it was done and over with, like I was like, that's it. Like I just created two outfits like that. Didn't even have to think about it. Like she sent me everything and I was just like, yes, yes, yes, okay, here we go, let's order it, done. So to have a professional come in and give you their input for free and have this service available is just incredible. Holidays are stressful enough as it is if you're needing an outfit for the holidays, for New Year's Eve, for any kind of special occasion, weddings, or like I said, if you're just looking to revamp your wardrobe and to find a few cute new pieces to elevate your wardrobe, like that's totally available to you as well. Or like I said, if you're looking for gifts for somebody else and they're hard to shop for, you can just provide their details to the stylist and see what they come back with and take the stress out of finding a gift for somebody just that easy. Like I said in the beginning, I love Nordstrom because it's so all-encompassing. You can find what you're looking for for anybody, for yourself, for any occasion, from a child to your grandpa.
