Speaking to a group in the San Gabriel Valley.

Hello everybody, my name is Merton Brink and why is the 49th Assembly candidate over here in Covina? Because you know somebody in the 49th Assembly District. I know these three people here today that are from the 49th Assembly District, but I know you all know someone in that 49th Assembly District. I cover the cities of Alhambra, South Pasadena, San Marino, San Gabriel, Arcadia, Temple City, East Pasadena, El Monte, Monterey Park, and Rosemead. You know somebody or you know somebody that's in that area or know of somebody that's know somebody that's in that area. You need to tell them about me. I have my material over here. You can find out more. You've already heard my platform from all the other candidates that have spoke before you except for one major incident that you all need to know about. Crime. Crime is the biggest issue that's happening in the state of California and who do you blame for the crime that's happening in the state of California? Democrats. Gascon, Democrats, politicians. The politicians are the ones that have caused these issues that we have in our community with crime out of control. Our smash and grabs. We have a district attorney, Gascon, that was mentioned who is not enforcing the law. The bad laws that we have right now that took all the teeth out of the laws for the law enforcement to do their job. People. Our businesses are hurting. Our communities are hurting. Our homes are hurting. Why? Because the criminals have all the rights and the victims have none. I am a board member with Crime Survivors. They're located in Orange County but they cover from Santa Barbara to San Diego and to our border on the east. It is very important for you to understand that our victims of crime have no place to go when something happens except through an organization like I belong to. We have to make sure that people understand that the victims should be our number one priority and not the criminals. That is what is happening in our communities. You notice that our gas prices are up, right? That, of course, affects everything that we do whether it be the clothes on our back or the food on our tables. But what else has happened that has gone up besides our costs of our clothes and things? That is all from the inflation that these Democrats have caused and the criminals that are stealing from our businesses because guess what? I call it the criminal tax and that's when every time you go buy an item from any store you're paying more money than what you should be paying for that because the criminals, they're paying for the criminals that are there stealing things from our businesses and from our grocery stores and all those things. Again, the politicians is what caused this. So how do you fix it? You change the politicians. Let's get rid of these politicians that are destroying the state of California and our nation's capital. Let's put the people back in charge that need to be in charge that are for you, working for you, not for anyone else. The politicians only care about themselves. I care about you. I know everything that's happening out of Sacramento is affecting me, you, my neighbors, my children, and my future grandchildren because I don't have any grandchildren yet. All right, I know what's going to happen because whatever I do in Sacramento when I'm elected will be affecting my kids and grandkids for many, many years to come. Let's change it. Let's fix it.
