I'm SO excited to share this video with you guys today! One of my favorite things to do in life is to find items someone else thought were trash, and turn them into something beautiful! So if you guys are into watching these kinds of videos, I would be HAPPPPPY to continue sharing more of them in the future!
I know I'll get questions about the paint used so here are some links to the colors of paint and kinds of paint I used in this video!
Chalk paint- I used the Chiffon Cream Chalk paint by Rustoleum. You CAN buy from amazon, however I get my chalk paint for just $9 at ACE! Home depot charges $17, so if you can find an ACE in your area, they have a bigger variety of colors and its so much more affordable!
Greenish/tan paint: This is Milk Paint purchased from Sweet Pickins in the color "Proper." https://www.sweetpickinsfurniture.com/product/proper You have to order online (unless you live in Magna Utah to pick up). Mlik paint comes in powder form, and you mix equal parts power + Warm water. If you want a smooth surface, you'll also want to mix equal parts Extra bond - https://www.sweetpickinsfurniture.com/product/extra-bond Otherwise it will be extremely chippy (which is a look I usually go for, but for my dresser and some other things, I wanted it smooth.)

Good morning guys.
I have been noticing a few comments asking to show you guys some of the fines
when I go to the thrift store. So I have a few things that I just picked up.
Most of this is for my room,
but I will show you just a couple of the things that I picked up today. Okay,
starting with this big old shelf. Look at that.
I should just leave it as is. I know,
but this was only three bucks and for how big it is.
I thought that was really good.
I've been looking for a shelf to hang above my bed,
so we'll see if this works out.
Anytime I see one of these colored muffin tins, I always grab them.
They're only 50 cents.
I got a green one and I put it in one of my little cabinets as a decoration piece
and I think it's the cutest thing ever. So today while I was out,
I was looking for a shelf, a candlestick,
and this is like the exact candlestick I had in mind and I wanted something to go
on top of the shelf. So I found this, this was $5.
I mean for the size, I think that's still pretty good. It does work.
It just needs batteries and I'm going to paint the frame.
So this is kind of the idea I have for above my bed and then I will show you,
I picked this up last time I was at the thrift store and I painted it so it was
just like a raw wood and I have painted it.
I first painted it white and then with some gray DIY paint and then I lightly
distressed it so you can kind of see the original wood,
the white and then obviously the gray. And then today I picked up some jars.
I thought four would be enough and it's not.
I definitely need to get at least two more and I have plenty of flowers that
I've just had.
So I'm going to just kind of make a cute little flower arrangement right here.
Um, so yeah, this is something else I'm going to put in my room.
This was a dollar. Um, oh,
and then some books I just bought these to rip them up.
I'm just going to rip off the top and the sides and I'm going to make like some
kind of little book display.
So that's my idea with some of those books.
And the last thing I picked up were some of these cute tiny little vases and I'm
just,
I think I'm just going to stick these flowers and I don't know if I'm going to
paint them or not. We will decide later, but Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay.
This is weird, but I kind of have a cute idea for this.
I'm going to stick a candle in there.
Just one of those like tiny tea light candles and I'm going to paint this and
then distress it. And I think this is just a cute little blob.
I don't even know what I would call this. I think it'll turn out cute.
And it was only 50 cents. So I'm like, well, I'll see. And if not,
then I can toss it. Okay. While I'm painting some things,
I wanted to show you, I got this for one 99 at savers,
which is a different thrift store.
I don't ever really go there because honestly their prices are a little bit
steep, but I got this for just a dollar 99.
I'm just going to paint it more of a cream color because it is kind of chipped
and not in like the right places.
It just doesn't look like it's supposed to look like that.
So I'm going to go ahead and paint this right now too.
Okay. Now I just wanted to show you once everything was complete,
how everything turned out. So you guys,
everything shown right here I purchased at the thrift store today,
obviously besides the greenery, but this is stuff that I already had.
I've actually shown you guys another video almost a year ago of me using these
flowers. So I've had this stuff,
but I did purchase these from Hobby Lobby and I think I got these from a floral,
which is a website. So anyway,
I ended up painting this just like a cream color and this is with chalk paint.
I actually decided not to do anything to this and just left it as it was.
Here's how this cute tablescape turned out. Um,
you guys watched me do the chalk paint and then the wet distress on the glass
jars. Here is how the shelf turned out.
It actually turned out a lot better than I thought it would.
I thought it might bubble up a lot right here because it's just that was like
that MDF board and I wasn't sure if it was going to paint very well,
but I think it turned out super cute and this is going to go above my bed.
So I just did the same thing.
I wet distress the edges to give it this kind of distress look.
Then moving on to this clock, I actually, I painted it a few colors.
I just use light brush strokes so you can see the original colors popping
through. Um, I first did like a white distress,
but I didn't like how it was going to look with this cause I think I'm going to
put that clock on top of this.
And so I decided to paint it the same green that I painted everything else in my
rooms. I think that turned out really cute. This is what I did with the books.
All I did was I ripped off all of the covers and I think just having them
stacked like that looks really cute.
I also might string them together with some jute but I haven't decided on that
yet.
Then I ended up painting this that same green that I painted everything else in
my room. I did decide to paint and what distress these cute little vases.
I ended up sticking this little rose that I had left over with some lambs ear.
So yeah, let me know guys if this is something you'd like to see more because I
literally go to the thrift store almost every single day so I'd have no problem
showing you when I find some things and also what I end up doing to each of the
items. Because to be honest,
I feel like this looks like something you would all find at Hobby Lobby or at
some other decor store. And this was all found at my thrift store.
So thank you guys so much for watching and we will hopefully see you in my room
reveal. That should be the very next thing that goes up.
I was never the one to write up a song for just anyone.
I was always the one to find myself lost in all conversations.
Cause I've always been told that things will unfold if you keep on waiting.
But then you came along and proved me wrong. I was so mistaken.
Cause you glue all the pieces back together.
Yeah. You, you take all my wrongs and make them better.
Yeah. You, you're making me wanna try forever.
I feel so free. Oh my sweet baby.
I was never the one to give up the ghost. No, I was so stuck.
I kept on playing my part. Wanted to give up cause nothing was changing.
But with you, it's so clear. And now that you're here,
I see colors in every spectrum cause I finally learned my lesson.
