The speaker celebrates the arrival of September and the start of the fall season, which is their favorite time of year and a period of peak creativity for their content. The video follows their daily routine of organizing downsized holiday decorations, visiting Walmart for seasonal inspiration, and beginning the process of decorating their new home.
Guess what time it is.
It's September 1st.
Holy crap.
How is it already this time of year?
You know?
I feel like the first half of the year drags forever.
And then now all of a sudden we're decorating for Halloween.
My favorite time of year.
Are you kidding?
This is when I come alive.
I am dead the whole first half of the year.
I'm just a dead person.
And now I'm alive.
And it actually kind of shows in my content.
Like I'm kind of MIA for the first six months of the year.
Kind of like actually till now,
nine months of the year until we hit the fall.
And that's when I come alive.
And that's when everything on my YouTube channel,
Instagram, everything comes alive this time of year.
What can I say?
So, okay.
Plan for the day.
I actually did not plan very well
because it's almost one o'clock
and I still need to go to the grocery store
before I go pick up my kids.
So what I'm going to do is we're going to go in the garage,
bring in some bins,
go through a little bit of the bins,
and then I'm probably going to head to Walmart
because there's some things that I need from there.
And while I'm there,
I thought we should, you know,
take a little peek at what they got down the fall aisle.
Cause I know that they have stuff.
They've had stuff for like a month.
So let's peep out some of their Halloween decor
and maybe, maybe I'll buy something.
I don't need anything, but you know, who knows?
Maybe I will.
I also want to show you,
I'm very proud of how much I've downsized in my decor.
You are going to be shocked
at how little amount of bins I have in my garage.
So let's go, let's go check that out.
This is not a joke.
This is all the bins I have.
Okay, there's two rows, but still.
I came from like having like 40 bins at one point.
Two, one, two, three, four.
This is also Christmas and Easter and 4th of July.
I know some of you are clutching your pearls
at the sight of this because
I almost don't believe in myself.
These two are fall.
We got one Halloween, wait, okay, yes.
One Halloween and then three fall bins.
There is a fall tree over there
and a couple like floss stems and stuff,
but yeah, this is all I have.
Can you guys even believe it?
It's basically just pumpkins and garlands
and a couple of pieces, you know,
that we'll sprinkle around.
I'm proud of what I've downsized, so I had to show you.
So let's get these suckers into the house.
I'm already sweating.
This one's kind of just everything
because it has every holiday in it.
This is like when I do the table settings
for my kids on holidays.
So I'm not bringing this in yet.
Do I even bring in Halloween?
I don't even know, I don't know, I don't know.
Okay.
I don't know how to think about this.
Is this weird?
That's weird, right?
It's weird.
What?
Okay, here's my trip to Walmart
and y'all, you will not catch me dead
in the store with a camera.
Anytime I do in-store filming,
it's always with my phone.
I'm always trying to be super secretive.
These are not aesthetic by any means.
I'm just like awkwardly trying to get a couple shots here.
But yeah, I'm not your girl
if you wanna do those in-store videos
because I just feel too stupid.
So I'm sorry about that.
It looks very similar to what they had last year.
There's obviously some new things.
And if you're like me though,
and you'd rather just order online
or even just do online order and then pick up in-store,
sometimes I would prefer to do that.
So I will have some of these things linked below.
It's so funny because every time I pull out my bins,
I forget what I have every year.
I forget.
And now that I'm in a new place,
I don't have an idea of where anything's going.
I don't have inspiration.
I have no idea.
I'm just kind of like looking around my room
and thinking, okay, well, I have some shelves.
I have a coffee table.
You know, I know last year I put some pumpkins.
I did like that whole situation
with the leaves under the TV.
My kids hate when I do that
because it blocks it from, our remote doesn't work.
That's the only thing I can think of right now.
I'm for sure going to do that.
And then as far as decorating goes, I have no clue.
So yeah, I don't really have a game plan
of how I'm going to decorate, but let's just get into it.
But why do you, why do you hate this?
Oh, because the TV remote doesn't fricking work.
Because the leaves.
The leaves, sorry, it's that time of year.
And it's a price we're willing to pay.
It's a sacrifice for birth, a sacrifice.
Okay, the aesthetic is the most important.
I'm really depressed to announce this,
but my little pumpkin head Harvey,
if you've been here for a while,
you know it's our like treat display pumpkin thing,
is missing.
And I realized it once I was trying to find
all my Halloween stuff for the family room.
I never saw it during the move.
I don't know where the heck that thing went.
And my kids are very upset about it.
But what can you do?
It was something that I had before I was married.
So it's something that my kids,
like it was the thing that our Halloween candy sat in
and it's gone.
So yeah, that was a big bummer.
But I did get this pumpkin last year to store candy in.
So we're just going to go with that.
Cause it's very nostalgic.
It looks like the pumpkin that used to sit
on my porch as a kid.
So I do love that.
All right, that's everything
for the first video of the fall.
I'm so excited to start pumping out content
for the fall season.
And then after that comes Christmas.
So this is the best time of year.
If you have not yet subscribed, please do that.
And thank you guys again for watching.
I'll see you in the next video.
