Getting the pets in. We're here. Crypto investor.
What's up everyone? Not gonna lie, today is one of the strangest, drunkest videos so far
and I don't say that so that you'll watch longer or anything, just letting you know what you're
getting into. We'll start the video by getting some breakfast before heading over to Xochimilco.
After that we will grab a boat, hit the water, and drink many many beverages. From there we'll
struggle to get home before getting tacos, heading over to a fancy loft in Juarez,
and then ending with my favorite pizza place in Mexico City. Stay tuned to the end if you want to
see a sober take on how to get to Xochimilco, if I think it's worth it, things to know,
scams to avoid there. If you're a returning subscriber or viewer, thank you for continually
supporting the channel. If you're new, I'm interesting. I retired in 2021 to travel and
If you're interested in following my journey or seeing where we go next,
consider subscribing. Let's get into the video.
This is the jamón sandwich or just the ham sandwich, the croissant sandwich or the ham
croissant. It's ham, gouda, and pesto. I'll show you some pesto later. I know you all are excited.
There's the pesto fam. There's the yummy cheese.
Oh, it's a napkin. It's a napkin. Yeah, that's really good. So, to give you something to compare
to, they do a ham and cheese croissant at Panaderia Rosetta. It's 100 pesos instead of 75,
and there's no pesto, and I think everything about this one's better. So,
yep, hidden gems. This is one of my favorite spots we've found, and I'd come back here every
single time. It is super convenient where we're staying, but even if it wasn't, I will seek this
place out at least once or twice, and we'll be back at least once or twice before we leave next
weekend. I love it. Look at that pesto drip. Oh, pesto drip. Hi, Mayna Freund. She wants
hashtag dat croissant. Getting the pets in. I'm throwing off the vibe. They looked way happier
before I showed up. All right, just wrapping up a few things. Just grabbed breakfast, as you saw.
Heading over to our friend's house, then going to head over to
the canal Xocomilo. This is going to be like Querétaro all over again. We're going to head
out there, try to get a boat, hang out on the water, get some beers. We'll show you what's there.
Let's go. This is our friend. He's been on this walk with us. We're here at Embarcadero
Something Nativitas. The scammer. Like 20 minutes ago, a guy on a motorbike was like trying to tell
our Uber, it was closed. Like very grade A scam. I'm very impressed with the scam game. Crypto
investor. Look what we found somewhere. Man, Spanish has progressed rapidly.
Slowly figuring this out. Carsick girl. Can you tell I'm smiling? Crisiest though. All right,
we think we're getting a boat, but we're, oh, nevermind. We're walking towards more boats.
We're going to start with two hours, I think. Get the girls tacos. Somehow we got La Toxica.
Maybe they knew a man was on this boat. Wait, I'm sorry. I'm not a beer drinker.
Just a couple of people in a boat.
I want one of the tacos.
You want corn?
What?
Is it like there's stuff on it?
I think it's...
Is it a loco?
Yeah, it's like a loco.
Spicy?
Will you change?
So if you buy a bunch, they'll tip your driver with a beer.
Mayans, Mayans.
I just wish you weren't backwards.
And Margs.
Cheers!
I got nervous and I'm getting bubbles.
Don't matter.
Does this have pomodoro, salsa inglesa, limon, and then the tahini and stuff?
I just like with everything and he's like, pomodoro?
Yes.
All right, good job, good job.
Green wine?
Oh, muchas gracias.
Oh, the lighting's getting better on you, May.
Oh, Sheila, I'm sorry.
This is May.
This is angry Sheila trying to hold it in.
This is the Spinelli beanie.
Candy apples.
Dead baby isles.
They're drunker than we are.
Come join us!
Typical fashion.
We'll just let it hit it.
What is this, San Francisco Railroads?
It's Mari's birthday.
I wonder if there's people falling off the boat.
Feliz cumple, Mari.
And good luck.
That could have been me.
We got napkins.
We stopped at Baby Doll Island for ice cream.
Bachelor party here.
Lots of stuff going on.
Some gender role reversals.
What is this?
I don't know where we are.
Something about boats and dogs.
Boats and hoes and dogs.
Alright, you can't procure an Uber XL.
We are working on going to the
train store.
We're trying to get May in.
Some coffee.
Sheila some shotties.
Greg some money.
Stay tuned.
It's gonna get weird.
So this is the town of wherever we are.
I don't know, man.
Alright, back by popular demand.
We are taking public trains back.
We're about 3 blocks away from the light rail.
That will take us to the metro.
That will take us back to Cuauhtemoc.
That's like 2 seconds from our place.
So we will show you.
The internet said it's gonna take 8 pesos.
I feel like it's gonna take, I don't know,
at least 10.
Let's see what happens.
There the train station is up on the left.
God knows if we'll get home.
I don't know how much this costs.
Pretty nice.
We put some money and we got this.
Yeah, that's a new hairstyle.
We're here at whatever.
Xochimilco whatever.
It's not crowded at all.
It's very easy to get on the train.
We called an Uber.
We have no idea where to get picked up.
Wait till the end of the video for when I recommend
how to get to and from the canals.
Heading home.
Part 9.
So after 9 Ubers and 10 trains
we got back.
The security guard didn't want to let us up
but Greg got some on-demand tacos.
So here we are.
This one's gonna take 10 shots.
Mayenne's gonna drink some brown water.
Greg's just coming through with
the timely taco delivery.
Well done.
Let's think about this.
Look at Mayenne react to an apartment building.
God, it's really messy.
This lad is hip-ass.
Airbnb tour.
Greg's like, I hate how close
the bathroom is to the bed.
Let's see.
Look where he does his banking.
I'm gonna hand it off to you and circle it around.
Not right now.
Does it have malt?
It has total malt.
Take a sip for young lady.
I applied for Target when I was in high school
and then I got the job
It's really good.
We have aunt from Tennessee.
She's here.
It's a pizza.
It tastes better because you wait longer for it.
Maybe you skipped ahead
or somehow you watched the whole video.
Just wanted to talk to you about a few things about Xochimilco.
First of all, there's two main ways
to get there. You can Uber.
I just searched.
If you were to call an Uber right now
from basically Romasur or Cundesa
to Xochimilco,
it would cost 280 pesos,
about $14.
UberXL is gonna cost more.
The alternative to taking Uber is
you can get out there via public trans.
What you would do is you'd take
the metro from wherever you're at
to a stop I will write down here.
Basically at that last stop
there's a light rail that goes
from that last stop to Xochimilco.
At the end of the video, we just
took that light rail spot from Xochimilco
back to where you can get the metro
and then we Ubered back.
You could do a mix. You could do either one.
What I will say is if you're in a big group,
once you get to Xochimilco,
for whatever reason, you cannot
at the time of this video at least,
call an UberXL back to the city.
You can do multiple regular UberXs
or you could do the light rail
to where the metro is and then call an Uber from there.
You can do a mix of things.
If you take the metro, the metro itself
is 5 pesos per person.
Then that last stretch, the light rail part,
once you've taken the metro,
the light rail to Xochimilco,
that's another 8 pesos.
A grand total of 13 pesos or less than 75 cents.
It's obviously cheaper.
It takes some time.
Depending on where you are in Mexico City,
it'll take however long to get to that light rail stop
and then from the light rail
beginning to the terminus,
that takes something like 30 to 40 minutes.
I'll update the real time here.
As far as things to know once you get out there,
there was a scam on the way
to us Ubering out there and it might happen to you.
If someone knocks on your window
and says it's closed, just ignore them.
Tell your driver that you still want to go there.
Otherwise, you can get misled somewhere else
where they charge anywhere from 2 to 4 times
the hourly cost on the boat.
Only other things to know is you can bring
your own alcohol. We didn't do that.
Maybe I would. I wouldn't bring my own food
because there's a lot of food options.
If you don't want to worry about carrying stuff or anything,
the drink options are pretty affordable.
I didn't talk too much about that.
I think the massive
micheladas are like 100 pesos.
I think the margaritas
were too, but if you really want to turn up
and bring your own tequila or anything
like that, you can. Our boat
I think provided beers for like
40 or 50 pesos each. Whatever they were,
they were affordable. They started out cold
and then the ice melted. Last thing to know,
you can actually pay for this
with a card. There shouldn't
be any crazy fees. I would take cash,
but you can pay with card.
The boat drivers still
expect a tip even though you can buy
a bunch of stuff and they get free stuff the whole time.
That would be the last thing I would say.
Whether or not this is worth it, I would say the bigger
the group, the more fun it is and the cheaper it is
because regardless of how many people you have,
as long as you fit on the boat, the cost
is the same. If you're in a big
group or something, I'd say do it. If you're in a smaller
group and want something more low-key,
you saw the video. It's hard to have a low-key
morning or afternoon. The earlier
in the day you go, the calmer it is.
As the afternoon wanes on, it kind of turns
up. That's kind of my two cents
and my take on it. Thanks for watching.
If you made it this far, we'll see you next week
with more videos.
