Okay, today we're doing something extra special. We're going to tour Mexico's coolest neighborhoods,
Roma and Condesa. We'll start by walking down to Roma Sur so we can grab barbacoa for breakfast.
From there, we'll go to a market to try to get some special tacos. After that, we will head to
two of Mexico City's coolest parks. And then from there, we'll head back to Roma Norte
to grab some snacks and drinks. And then we'll wrap up at Mercado Roma. If you're enjoying this

consomme is not my favorite. Yunji likes it a lot. It's got good flavor depth, but the texture of the
chickpea doesn't do it for me. And it could be brighter. I guess I can add some more lime or
something, but it's just fine. It's probably good for hangover, but I'm going right back into the tacos.
So
this is the barbacoa. It's extremely juicy, fatty, luscious. The tortilla is just the right
amount of thickness. You get a little crunch from the onion and then the brightness of the
salsa and the lime. It's delicious. The meat is so ******* good. Yeah, I'm eating another taco.
Can't get over just the fattiness, the richness in a good way. It's just so good. The meat's cooked
super well. It's tender, but just the butteriness of the fat. Texture of the meat's great too, but
just the fat is delicious. The something about the acidity from the lime or the salsa, I think
it's the salsa just against the fat from the meat. It's just so balanced in such a good way.
The meat's starting to be less warm, but it's great. The tortillas are starting to get hard,
but it's still so good and the balance is really nice. So a quarter kilo ended up being six tacos,
like six large tacos worth. Then it came with six tortillas, so it was perfect. Usually like
the consomme, I'd probably pass on that. If I came here in the morning, would definitely get
cafe de olla. I think next time when we come, we'd do another quarter kilo with the tortillas,
and then we'd probably get some beers, and then one of their queso fundidos, or like one of their
fried cheeses. So I hope you enjoyed checking out El Higualdense. Again, butchering that for
some barbacoa and tacos, consomme. We are going to head now to Mercado Medellin, I think that's
what it's called, and we're going to try to find this particular carnitas chicharron taco spot. Let's go!
So noticing in Roma Sur, or near our old Airbnb, near the Mercado, there's a lot of foreigners.
We saw a tour in here. I highly recommend coming to this market, because there's actually a ton
to see. You can get an agua fresca, you can get a smoothie. It looks like a lot of the food vendors are
closed until the weekend. That's where the main guy that we went to see said it opens tomorrow
8 or 9 in the morning. But yeah, overall would highly recommend making a stop at Mercado Medellin.
I'm outside the Roma Airbnb I stayed at. While we were here there was actually
an earthquake and it appeared. Fun fact you didn't ask for.
So we are getting close to Parque Mexico and Parque España.
I'll show you around these little parks and these little plazas. I'm gonna pop over to my old Airbnb.
So this is not Parque Mexico, this is one of the smaller plazas around.
So I'm right outside of 210 Amsterdam. I forget when I stayed here, but this is another Airbnb
I stayed at. Again, you probably don't care, but I thought I'd throw this in there.
Also worth mentioning, we're finally outside of Roma. This is Condesa
or Hippodromo, but this is the area most folks associate with Condesa.
Kind of these streets around here, Parque Mexico which we'll go to,
and then the smaller Parque España to the west. I'll show you around.
Parque Mexico.
So behind me is Parque España. It's basically across the street from Parque Mexico and much
smaller, but here it is.
Tuna tostada. Not what I was expecting. It's more like smoked or seared on the outside.
It's still like raw or very rare, and it's very thick as opposed to contramaras, but
this tuna has a good flavor. There's like a smoky chipotle mayonnaise under that's really yummy,
or aioli, and then there's a like crunchy onion or something on top for a texture,
and then there's two big pieces of avocado. Yeah, really good.
Mercado Roma is a little hit or miss, and today it was raining, so we actually decided to go to
a different bar. Join me for part two as we grab cocktails in an atrium, go to a restaurant without
a menu, visit a local brewery, go to the best cocktail bar in Mexico City, and go to my second
favorite taqueria in the city. Thanks so much for watching. If you dug this, please like and
subscribe. Until next time.
