HOPEWELL JUNCTION – A man has vowed to quit hunting after a mishap while in the woods near his house on Saturday.  Emergency personnel responded to a report of a man who had been shot in the leg with an arrow while deer hunting.  The man was hunting with a crossbow when he accidentally discharged the weapon, sending the bolt (20″ arrow) completely through his lower leg.

The man made it back to his house, where a neighbor triaged him until the ambulance arrived to transport him to a local hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury.

The patient was overheard saying that he was quitting hunting, admitting that he is not good at it.
