MONTICELLO – A 53-year-old East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, man who was convicted of killing and mutilating his girlfriend’s body in June 2014 was sentenced Friday in Sullivan County Court to 25 years to life in state prison.
Keymarroo Guiden’s conviction followed a 12-day trial. Authorities believe he killed April Parker, 31, dismembered her body and discarded it in the woods, just 150 yards from where the couple lived in the Sleepy Hollow apartment complex in Monticello.
When Parker’s skeletal remains were found and confirmed through DNA evidence, further investigation pointed to Guiden as the suspect.
Sullivan County District Attorney Brian Conaty called the case “the most gruesome and heinous murder committed in Sullivan County in decades.”
The DA said Guiden “is the epitome of domestic violence personified despite his attempt to mask who he really is. As was stated at sentencing by April’s loved ones, the defendant’s selfish and cruel act stole the life of a loving mother, sister, daughter, and valued community member.”
