Los Angeles — Millie Bobby Brown and her husband, Jake Bongiovi, have welcomed their second child, adding to a family that began with the adoption of their first baby last year.
The “Stranger Things” star and Bongiovi announced the news Thursday in a joint Instagram post that showed the newborn’s hands wrapped around theirs. The caption read, “hi little guy!” A ring spelling “mom” was also visible on one of Brown’s fingers.
According to People magazine, the couple’s newest child also joined the family through adoption. CNN contacted representatives for Brown and Bongiovi for additional comment.
The arrival comes just over a year after Brown and Bongiovi announced that they had welcomed their first child, a daughter, through adoption.
Brown was 21 when she became a mother for the first time. She has previously said that adoption was something she had envisioned as part of her future for many years.
During a June appearance on the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce” podcast, Brown said adoption had been among her childhood dreams. She said she hoped giving birth could potentially be part of her future, but adoption had always been especially important to her plans.
Brown has also discussed the preparation involved before adopting her first child. She said she completed numerous courses and had studied social work for two years before changing direction and pursuing veterinary studies.
She described the waiting period as one of the most difficult aspects of adoption and advised prospective adoptive parents not to compare their experiences with those of other families.
Brown and Bongiovi married in 2024. Bongiovi is the son of rock star Jon Bon Jovi.
For Brown, motherhood has marked a significant new chapter alongside her established acting career. She began working professionally as a child and gained international recognition for playing Eleven in Netflix’s “Stranger Things.”
She has also discussed the responsibility she feels while raising a daughter, particularly in light of her own experience growing up in the public eye.
Brown has said she is enjoying motherhood and described it as a transformative experience.
With their second child now part of the family, Brown and Bongiovi are beginning another stage of parenthood while continuing their respective careers.
