COLD SPRING – A few tears were shed by parents — not the children — as incoming kindergarteners were welcomed to Haldane School’s Cold Spring campus Monday ahead of this week’s official start of school.
Members of the Class of 2039 toured the elementary school, took a bus ride and enjoyed playground activities under the watchful eyes of teachers and Superintendent Gail Duffy.
Duffy reminded the community that work on the Haldane High School addition was underway and construction will continue through the school year with “student and staff safety remain our top priority.”
Duffy also noted that the Village of Cold Spring has an immediate need for crossing guards during the morning and afternoon shifts.
She asked residents to “please help spread the word or consider applying for this important role to keep our students safe.”
