NEW WINDSOR – , a major pharmaceutical manufacturer, has received the approval to construct a 170,000-square-foot facility in the Town of New Windsor adjacent to Stewart Airport.

The town planning board has signed off on the project that will see two buildings constructed – one for research and development and the other manufacturing.

Orange County Partnership President Conor Eckert said it will bring with it direct and indirect benefits to the region.

‘“Why I think it is so important aside from the direct economic benefit is that it plants our flag in a sector that communities across the country are working to attract, and that’s advanced pharmaceuticals and life sciences and Garonit will really help anchor the cluster for us,” he told Mid-Hudson News.

The almost $50 million facility will employ 100 high-paying jobs when completed.
