WASHINGTON – In one of the most hotly contested congressional races in the midterm elections this fall, incumbent Republican Michael Lawler is facing Democrat Cait Conley.

Lawler is bringing his fellow Republican House Speaker Mike Johnson into the 17th District to campaign for him later this week. Both men are staunch supporters of President Trump.

Johnson will speak at a rally Thursday afternoon in a yet-to-be-disclosed location in Westchester County.

The Lawler campaign says the event “will bring together supporters and community leaders to ensure NY-17 has the strong common-sense representation it deserves in Washington.”

On Monday, 11 police organizations from across the Hudson Valley, New York City, and New York State, announced their endorsement of Lawler’s campaign for reelection, representing over 80,000 law enforcement officers statewide.
