HURLEYVILLE- The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre (HPAC) will cease operations on October 31, ending more than a decade of providing arts, entertainment, and community programming in Sullivan County.
The announcement was made in a joint statement issued by HPAC and The Center for Discovery, which said the decision followed “thoughtful discussion and careful consideration.”
Officials said the transition reflects HPAC’s evolving priorities and strategic direction while maintaining its longstanding partnership with The Center for Discovery.
Since opening, HPAC has hosted a wide range of public programming, including films, festivals, educational classes, youth and family events, senior programs, and other community activities.
In its statement, HPAC thanked its staff, volunteers, artists, donors, supporters, and community members for their contributions over the years.
Although HPAC will close, The Center for Discovery said it plans to continue many of the arts and community programs that have become fixtures in Hurleyville. Those efforts are expected to include sensory-friendly movie screenings, programming for children and seniors, Holiday in Hurleyville, and other community events.
“Our organizations remain committed to supporting the continued growth of Hurleyville, Sullivan County and the broader arts community,” the joint statement said.
No additional details were released regarding the future use of the HPAC facility or the reasons behind the decision to end operations.
