CORTLANDT MANOR- Three Cortlandt men face a variety of charges following an alleged noon-time larceny at the Home Depot on Route 6 in Cortlandt Manor.
State Police charged Christopher Caguana-Uzho, 19, and Santiago Quinatoa Osorio, 24, for allegedly attempting to steal more than $500 worth of merchandise from the store.
Troop K Public Information Officer Trooper Kystal Paolicelli said when patrols responded to the Cortlandt Town Shopping Center, Home Depot Loss Prevention personnel said three Hispanic males had left the store and were traveling along Route 6.
Police broadcast an all-points bulletin throughout Putnam and northern Westchester for the suspects, and the trio was found in Peekskill a short time later.
Paolicelli said that during the investigation, the driver, Jonathan Maldonado, 27, of Peekskill, showed signs of intoxication. After standardized field sobriety tests were administered, Maldonado was taken to the State Police barracks for processing, where a chemical breath test showed a blood alcohol content of 0.35 percent—more than four times the legal limit for DWI.
Caguana-Uzho and Quinatoa Osorio were each charged with larceny, while Maldonado was charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated (three prior convictions), Driving While Intoxicated (three prior convictions), and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. He was arraigned in Buchanan Court and remanded to the Westchester County Jail.
