MONTICELLO – A former correction officer at the Woodbourne Correctional Facility has been indicted by a Sullivan County grand jury in a public corruption investigation.

Kyle Raven was charged with several offenses for abusing his position of public trust by smuggling methamphetamine and cell phones into the prison for inmates on several occasions.

He received over $17,000 in cash and CashApp from inmate Andrew Stoghtenger for his part in the conspiracy.

Another defendant, Amy Preston, also known as Amy Stoughtenger, a vendor at the prison through her company Freedom Foods, allegedly masked inmate payments for contraband.

The charges are the result of a joint investigation by the District Attorney’s Office, State Police, and the State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Office of Special Investigations.

District Attorney Brian Conaty called the crime a “highly calculated and orchestrated conspiracy” by a correction officer, several inmates and a civilian.
