Lauren Nielsen

LIVINGSTON MANOR – Rockland Central School District Director of Special Services Lauren Nielson has taken on the additional role of interim superintendent effective July 1.

Nielson has been with the school district since 2009, when she began as a special education teacher and social studies teacher at Livingston Manor Middle/High School.

She began her role as director of special services in 2018.

Previous to that, Nielson served as a middle/high school special education teacher at Sullivan County BOCES.

“During my time as interim superintendent I am committed to facilitating a seamless transition that promotes student success, while strengthening the partnership between families, schools and the community where communication and collaboration are supported,” Nielson said.

Her appointment is through August 31, unless it is terminated by the board before then.

The search for a superintendent is ongoing.
