MILLERTON – One motorcyclist was killed and another critically injured as a result of a two-motorcycle accident on Route 22 in Millerton Monday morning. The accident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on Route 22.
A medevac helicopter was requested to land at Eddie Collins Field, but the helicopter communication system malfunctioned, leading to a delay. With the second victim in critical condition, the decision was made to transport the patient to Sharon Hospital in an ambulance, where the helicopter was going to meet them for further transport.
Route 22 was closed to vehicular traffic while the accident was investigated.
