Dozens of Hollywood celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, may have used a West Hollywood business address on voter registration records instead of their primary residences, according to a report that raised questions about compliance with California election law.
In a Tuesday exclusive, The Daily Mail reported that about 36 celebrities were listed on voter rolls with Suite 600 at 9200 Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood identified as their “home address.”
The address is not a residence. It belongs to Platinum Financial Management, Inc., a business operated by celebrity financial adviser Michael Ullman, who told The Mail that celebrities receive mail at the location.
“They don’t live here,” Ullman told The Mail. “It’s just a mailing address, but it’s not their residential address. So it gets mailed here, but they voted in their area.”
According to the report, the address appeared as the residential address for Aniston, Jenna Dewan of “Step Up,” Linda Cardellini of “ER,” Katheryn Winnick of “Big Sky” and “Vikings,” “Desperate Housewives” actress Nicollette Sheridan, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” actress Laura Harrier, “Gilmore Girls” actor Matt Czuchry, singer Debbie Gibson and comedian Hamish Linklater, among others.
Ullman said he did not understand California law to require a home address on the forms.
“That’s weird. That’s not my understanding,” Ullman said.
California election law requires voters to sign a voter registration affidavit confirming their home address under penalty of perjury.
Amber Hulse of the Dhillon Law Group told The Mail that a voter may use a business address as a mailing address but must still provide a residential address as the voter’s domicile.
“You’re allowed to use a mailing address, like a business address or something like that,” Hulse told The Mail. “But they still need to provide their residential address as their domicile.”
Hulse said the law applies regardless of fame or public status.
“If, for example, Jennifer Aniston is using it as her residence, when it is clearly not her residence, then it would be illegal,” Hulse said.
“When you sign up to register to vote, you’re signing under penalty of perjury. It would be the crime of perjury in California,” she said, adding, “People can hide their residential address for privacy concerns, but celebrity is not one of those options.”
Hulse said the rules are intended to protect election integrity by ensuring voters participate in elections tied to where they actually live.
“For example, if you live in LA County, you should have no business in electing someone in San Diego County,” she said.
According to The Mail, Aniston was among 27 of the 36 people registered at the business address who voted in the 2024 election. The former “Friends” actress has consistently voted for Democrats in previous elections.
The Los Angeles County Clerk’s website tells voters that “A person may only register to vote at their place of residence. A business address or a P.O. Box number may only be used as a mailing address.”
Los Angeles County spokesman Michael Sánchez also confirmed to The Mail that California law requires voters to register at their domicile or residence.
“Under California law, voters must register at the address they identify as their domicile or residence,” Sánchez said.
Sánchez said the county is “continuing to review the records associated with this address.”
The Mail reported that none of the celebrities contacted for comment responded.
