COLD SPRING – Eleven residents of the Cold Spring Mobile Home Park in the North Highlands section of Philipstown are trying to put their lives together following a devastating blaze that destroyed two homes and damaged a third.
Throughout the weekend volunteers from the Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross provided immediate emergency aid to those affected by offering financial assistance which can be used for necessities such as shelter, food, and clothing to the three households, consisting of seven adults and four children, ages 8, 11, 13 and 14. Volunteers also offered health services, comfort kits containing personal care items, blankets, and smoke soap.
This week, Red Cross staff and volunteers will continue helping those affected by the fire as they recover.
When firefighters arrived at the scene of the blaze they found multiple mobile homes on fire.
