NEWBURGH – The Hometown Heroes banner program has been very successful in several municipalities across the Hudson Valley and Newburgh City Councilman Rob McLymore would like to bring it that city.
He is seeking city council approval to bring it to his hometown.
“It is recognizing those who have served in the United States armed forces and to pay tribute to our veterans and deceased veterans, so they would put up a banner, and that would bring more of this quality of life which will lead to a special character in the City of Newburgh,” he said.
Family members, military service organizations or friends usually contribute to the cost of providing and installing the banners.
