BEACON – City Administrator Chris White is retiring from his post in Beacon on two months, but the city has already selected his replacement.
Mayor Lee Kyriacou said the city council has selected deputy administrator Ben Swanson to succeed White.
“We had a very easy transition because Ben has been here four years. He is already doing a large piece of the job. So, it’s a pretty seamless transition. We will have to look for another deputy city administrator now, but that’s an easier chore,” the mayor said.
Beacon’s sister city across the Hudson River, Newburgh, meanwhile, also needs a new city manager and the city council is expected to conduct a nationwide search.
