POUGHKEEPSIE – The rain and the Dutchess County Drug Task Force arrived in Poughkeepsie at the same time Wednesday night. Assisted by units from the City of Poughkeepsie Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office, the task force executed search warrants at three addresses in Poughkeepsie around 11:45 p.m.
One raid was conducted in an apartment in the Harriet Tubman Apartment Complex off of Jefferson Street, a second raid took place on Franklin Street between Lincoln Avenue and South Avenue, and the third was at the apartments known as The Bricks at 130 Hudson Avenue.
The raids resulted in two suspects being taken into custody.
“The operation,” according to Detective Sergeant Adam Harris, is related to an investigation involving the trafficking of fentanyl and cocaine into Dutchess County from the Capitol Region and other locations.
The two individuals in custody were being held at the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office as of 12:45 a.m. Thursday.
Additional details will be released later in the day, according to the task force.
