CARMEL – How is Putnam County adapting to a changing climate? That question and others related to climate change will be discussed today at an online seminar sponsored by Putnam County and the Hudson Valley Regional Council.
Putnam Commissioner of Planning, Development and Transportation Barbara Barosa explained the project is fully funded by the State Department of Environmental Conservation Climate Smart Communities Coordinator Services Program that will assist the county plan for a “safer, healthier, and more resilient future by identifying climate risks and ways to reduce them.”
She added that Putnam was currently a Bronze-Certified Climate Smart Community, and once completed, the county will continue its progress towards Silver Certification.
Barosa called community input essential to this planning process. “We need the community’s help to ensure the plan reflects the community’s priorities. Feedback shared during this event will directly shape the strategies included in Putnam County’s proposal,” she said.
Today’s meeting will be held online from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Interested individuals may register at:
