HYDE PARK – Following a March 2025 fire that all but destroyed the hot dog wagon, the future of Carole’s Hot Dogs was uncertain.  Owner Lynne Alessi worked diligently with the insurance company and contractor to get a functioning truck back to her spot on St. Andrews Road in Hyde Park.

With a variety of new permits secured, Carole’s Hot Dogs has celebrated its grand reopening, drawing hundreds of faithful patrons to the beloved hot dog eatery.  Business was so good that it closed early after serving several hundred Sabrett hot dogs she had cooked for the day.

The line of cars parked along St. Andrews Road to get hot dogs stretched for hundreds of yards, and there was a constant line of people waiting patiently to get their orders.

Carole’s has been a fixture throughout Hyde Park for more than two decades, with Carole and her daughter working side by side in the truck.  When Carole passed away, Lynne Alessi kept things going and eventually set up at the St. Andrews location.

The current hours of operation are Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
