A group of Arab states — Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and Jordan — have issued a strong joint statement condemning Iranian aggression and attacks carried out by its terror proxies, particularly Iran-aligned militias operating from Iraqi territory.

“The State of Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Qatar, and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, reaffirm their strongest condemnation of the blatant Iranian aggressions, which constitute a flagrant violation of their sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter, whether carried out directly or through its agents and the armed factions it supports in the region, and in particular the aggressions launched by Iran-aligned armed factions from the Republic of Iraq against a number of regional states, their facilities, and infrastructure, which represent a breach of international laws and covenants, and a blatant violation of Security Council Resolution 2817 (2026), which explicitly demands that Iran immediately and unconditionally cease any aggression or threat against neighboring states, including through the use of proxies,” the statement read.

“While commending the fraternal relations with the Republic of Iraq, the states party to this statement call upon the Iraqi Government to take the necessary measures to halt the attacks launched by factions, militias, and armed groups from the territory of the Republic of Iraq against neighboring states immediately, in order to preserve fraternal relations and avoid further escalation.”

It added, “The states party to this statement also reaffirm their full and inherent right to self-defense against these criminal attacks in accordance with Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, which guarantees states the right to individual or collective self-defense in the event of an armed attack, and their right to take all necessary measures to preserve their sovereignty, security, and stability.”

“They further condemn the acts and activities that undermine the security and stability of regional states, planned by Iran-aligned sleeper cells and terrorist organizations affiliated with Hezbollah, and commend their valiant armed forces for confronting these aggressions, the vigilance of their security apparatus which serves as an impregnable shield and watchful eye to safeguard the safety of homelands and lives, and their dedicated and tireless efforts in apprehending these agent cells and terrorist organizations and uncovering their nefarious plots,” the joint statement said.
