Pop star Rihanna was inside her Los Angeles home Sunday afternoon when a woman allegedly drove up and opened fire on the property with an AR-15-style rifle, authorities said. No injuries were reported, but several rounds struck parts of the residence, prompting a major police response in the upscale neighborhood.

The Los Angeles Police Department said four rounds or fragments hit the property after the suspect stopped outside the residence shortly after 1:15 p.m. Officers responding to reports of an assault with a deadly weapon quickly detained the woman believed to be responsible.

Police said the suspect’s name has not yet been released. LAPD Capt. Mike Bland said additional details, including possible charges and booking information, are expected to be made public Monday as the investigation continues.

The home is shared by Rihanna and her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. Authorities said it was not immediately clear whether A$AP Rocky or the couple’s children were inside the residence at the time of the shooting.

Representatives for the couple did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Police also said a possible motive for the shooting has not yet been determined.

Investigators recovered the rifle believed to have been used in the attack. The LAPD’s elite Robbery-Homicide Division has taken over the case, officials said.

Aerial video from  Los Angeles showed what appeared to be bullet holes in a large security gate outside the property. The street in front of the home was cordoned off with yellow crime scene tape attached to a police SUV.

The residence sits in Beverly Crest, an affluent hillside community near Beverly Hills about 20 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.

Authorities said patrols in the area were increased as detectives continued gathering evidence late Sunday.
