Grants awarded to three area housing projects

MID-HUDSON – The state has awarded three housing projects more than $19 million in total affordable housing in Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange counties.

In Ulster County, $6.3 million has been awarded to Stone Creek Commons in the Town of Saugerties.

The funding will be used for the construction of 47 units of affordable and supportive housing. The development will also include a community facility for support services. The project is being developed by Rehabilitation Support Services.

In Orange County, $5.8 million will be applied to the construction of 42 units of affordable and supportive housing in the Town of Crawford. It will be developed by Access: Supports for Living.

In the Dutchess County Town of LaGrange, $7.2 million will be applied to the construction of Hallstead Farms, a 72-unit affordable housing project developed by Parkview Development.

“The housing crisis won’t solve itself,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “That means building more housing in every region and making targeting investments to expand affordable homes for people of all ages ad phases of life including working families, seniors, and people living with disabilities.”
