Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the first lady Sara Netanyahu welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel, as the countries are set to sign agreements worth of $10 billion on Thursday.
Both leaders are moving for bilateral discussions, and Prime Minister Modi is hoping for a “fruitful outcome” of the visit.
“I am extremely honoured to be received by Prime Minister Netanyahu and Mrs. Netanyahu at the airport. I look forward to engaging in bilateral discussions and fruitful outcomes that strengthen the India-Israel friendship,” said Modi on his X handler.
Netanyahu also said, “My wife Sara and I welcomed today our good friend, the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi, who is arriving for another historic visit to Israel.”
Recalling Modi’s last visit in 2017, Netanyahu said, “Prime Minister Modi was here on his previous visit to the country in 2017, and I made a return visit to India that was exceptional.”
“We maintain a close personal connection, talk a great deal, and I believe that the deep friendship between us powerfully radiates onto the relations between our countries,” Netanyahu stated. “We will participate in a festive reception at the Knesset and visit an innovation event in Jerusalem, and we will host Prime Minister Modi for a joint dinner.”
The leaders are scheduled to visit Yad Vashem on Thursday and afterwards hold another meeting together with our teams —– during which a series of agreements in economic, security, and political fields will be signed.
Netanyahu said the agreements “will launch the cooperation between Israel and India to new heights.”
According to reports, Israel and India are set to sign historic defense deals worth up to $10 billion, strengthening military ties with agreements on missiles, drones, and AI as Indian PM Modi visits Jerusalem.
