DUTCHESS COUNTY – A New York State Trooper was rear-ended on the Taconic State Parkway during the snowstorm on Sunday after they stopped to help a motorist.  According to a source close to the investigation, the motorist stopped in the middle of the roadway to clean their windshield.

The trooper, a K9 handler, stopped behind the motorist with poor judgment and activated the emergency lights on the marked Tahoe.

While protecting the stopped motorist, a vehicle operated by a New York City resident ran into the rear end of the trooper’s vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
