Multiple Iranian state television channels were compromised on Sunday during a widespread internet blackout, broadcasting footage of exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi alongside images from recent anti-government protests in Tehran.

The hack caught viewers off guard as Pahlavi’s voice suddenly aired on screens, delivering a message framed as “the real news of the Iranian national revolution.”

In the audio, Pahlavi addressed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, stating: “An important message for Mr. Pezeshkian. The President of the United States, President Trump, promised time and time again to stand with the people of Iran in their fight against the Islamic regime.”

He continued, emphasizing international support: “Europe is also with us. European leaders are joining President Trump. The regime will do anything to keep you in the dark. But one thing… America is with you.”

Pahlavi positioned himself as a unifying figure, declaring: “Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is our voice. He will bring global support for us.”

The message urged employees of state institutions, as well as armed and security forces, to align with the public: “You have the chance to join the people and stand with the nation or to side with the killers of the people and bring upon themselves the national, eternal shame and curse. You should heed the message of the President of the United States… Help is on the way.”

Pahlavi delivered a specific appeal to military personnel: “I have a special message for the military personnel. You are the national army of Iran, not the army of the Islamic Republic. You have a duty to protect the lives of your fellow citizens. You do not have much time left. Join the people as soon as possible.”

The broadcast concluded by highlighting alleged shifts in momentum: “Oppressors are retreating from the centers of all big cities. Thousands of armed forces have put down their arms and pledged loyalty to the people. This is a message to the military and security forces: Don’t point your guns towards the people. Join the people for the freedom of Iran.”
