POUGHKEEPSIE – Christmas came early for the City of Poughkeepsie Police Neighborhood Recovery Unit (NRU) after they arrested a man Tuesday who they had been investigating for selling drugs. Members of the NRU and officers assigned to the Gun Involved Violence Elimination (GIVE) executed a search warrant at 75 Montgomery Street around 1:45 p.m. following an investigation into illegal drug sales, resulting in the arrest of Rackish Salmon, 41, a three-time convicted felon.
When police searched the location, they seized a loaded .22 caliber Clerke revolver, a quantity of fentanyl, crack cocaine, cash, packaging materials, and other evidence.
Salmon was transported to police headquarters, where he was processed and held pending arraignment.
