TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A husband and wife were found dead in their home in the Greenvale Park section of town on Wednesday after officers responded to 21 Homer Place for a welfare check that was requested by a third party. The Town of Poughkeepsie police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the possible murder/suicide.
Officers responded to the home just after noon on December 17 and saw an injured male and female on the foyer floor. Officers made their way into the home despite all of the doors being locked and determined that the couple had both sustained fatal gunshot wounds.

A gun was found near the victims, who were the only two occupants of the house.
The bodies were turned over to the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday afternoon for further evaluation and examination.
