Yellowstone premieres on CBS to massive numbers.
Hey everybody, I'm Adam Martinetti and giddy up!
Yellowstone drew massive numbers in viewership when it made its premiere on CBS last week
for the first time not streaming or on cable television.
6.6 million viewers tuned in with the number rising to nearly 7.5 million when accounting
for three days of delayed viewing via VOD, DVR, and other platforms.
While the show has a high rewatch value, Variety reports that around 50% of those viewers had
never seen the show before.
When the show first premiered on the Paramount Network back in 2018, it drew in 2.8 million
viewers and over time gained much critical acclaim, with the premiere of season 5 earning
an audience of 8.8 million in November of last year.
With the WGA and SAG strikes this year, that cleared out CBS's scripted programming for
this fall, which led to the decision to air Yellowstone reruns.
The series as a whole will be coming to an end at the completion of the second part of
season 5.
CBS will continue airing double episodes of Yellowstone on Sundays, or you can stream
it on Peacock Premium.
