Should we ban junk food in schools?
Hello guys, today I want to talk about a topic called
the motion.
It's probably about banning junk food in schools.
Okay, so now I'll take the role as the first speaker
of the affirmative side in debate.
I'll start right now.
Greetings to judges and my worthy opponents.
My name is Jenny.
As the first speaker of the affirmative team,
I am not here just to speak,
but to establish my team's case.
Firstly, before I go into my ideas,
I would like to define key words.
Number one, ban.
Ban is completely removing or stopping something.
Second is junk food.
Junk food is unhealthy food, high in sugar, fat, or salt.
Our team believes that junk food should be banned
because it harms students' health
and makes it harder to just concentrate in class.
Schools are places for learning and health growth.
And junk food makes students obese.
We should go against it to ban it from school.
Now I'd like to discuss my ideas.
Firstly, eating junk food at school can make you obese.
You can go eat junk food at restaurants
just once or twice a month, that is okay.
But you go to school almost every day.
This may lead to weight gain and excess body fat.
Everyone will tease you if you're obese.
You don't wanna get teased, right?
Exactly, so you need to ban junk food in school.
For example, many students like to eat junk food
due to its flavor, it's really yummy, sweet, and delicious.
Sometimes in school lunches, school can give them junk food
or the kids can pack junk food to eat at school.
The school can be obese due to eating too much junk food.
It can be worse if we eat more and more and more junk food
every day.
Secondly, junk food, while it's tasty,
it should be avoided due to its negative impact
on the health.
It's typically high in calories, sugar, fat, and salt.
While lacking its essential nutrients
like fiber and vitamins, minerals,
regularly consuming junk food just makes worse and worse
can lead to various health like diabetes, obesity,
heart disease, cancer.
It can even contribute your weight,
making you feel obese and fat.
For instance, studies show that junk food
is linked to various health problems,
including issues, diabetes, obesity,
mental health issues, depression, and anxiety.
And lastly, having fast food occasionally
or in small amounts is acceptable.
However, regularly consuming fast food
can be a harmful effect on your body,
increasing the risk of conditions like obesity,
high blood pressure, and diabetes.
Specifically, Blair River is obese from eating junk food
and he weighs 575 pounds, which is 261 kilograms.
He eats junk food every day in heart attack drills.
Well, what's the result of eating too much junk food
in heart attack drills?
He dies at the age of 29 due to pneumonia.
In conclusion, if we don't ban junk food in schools,
we will probably suffer too.
Dear judges and debaters,
I've spoken and I feel my time.
Thank you.
Guys, thank you for you for all listening
to my speech for today.
Hope to see you soon.
Goodbye.
