This forces Boston into a HUGE decision...
Oct 4, 2026
The Boston Bruins have been forced into multiple huge decisions ahead of Game 3 against the Minnesota Wilds after two games of experience already under their belt.
There is one glaring hole that is needing to be fixed for this Boston Bruins team.
We're going to be breaking that down as well as going over last night's game and how this is a very positive sign going forward for not just the offense but multiple players in specific as well.
Folks, we have a lot to break down here in today's video with a few updates coming ahead of tonight's game and what to expect.
Before we do get into it, if you haven't already, be sure to drop a sub on the channel.
We have a lot of stuff coming. The season is well underway.
The Bruins are off to a hot start and we gotta see if they can continue what they have going.
We're getting videos out here every single day. You will not want to miss it.
I want to first touch on last night's game a bit because we saw James Higgins get his first goal with the Boston Bruins in his big first regular season, hopefully for the entire year.
Nice goal. He played very, very well. You see him here at the top of the hockey stat card.
Very well deserved because his game was far better than what we saw in Game 1.
Not just him but that entire third line.
That was something that a lot of people were worried about.
But keep in mind, folks, we still have a lot of time to see how things are actually going to line up for the rest of the season.
Only two games done so far. Game 3 coming tonight and a lot more to be played.
So people are adjusting, but having him have a great game, JJ Paterka, another goal.
This one in overtime. Elias Lindholm scoring the minute left to bring it to overtime.
The fight that this team already has is there and that's a really big thing to consider about it.
But James Higgins being the guy he was in this game is certainly great to see.
And you see this here from Ty Anderson.
Per natural stat trick, James Higgins was out of 12 minutes and 43 seconds of 5-on-5 ice time.
Over that sample, Bruins controlled shot attempts 11-4, controlled shots 3-2.
Scoring chances 5-2 and high danger chances 3-0.
So whenever he's on the ice, the Bruins are playing well.
And that is a very good sign going forward about what they may choose to do with the lineup.
How much ice time those kids will get on that third line.
And just a lot of things going forward is really positive from this.
So that is going to be something to keep an eye on in tonight's very tough game against the Wilds as well.
Now, before we do jump into what possible changes are going to be made, folks.
We have a word from the sponsor of this video, Anson Belt & Buckle.
You know what ruins a great outfit really fast?
An old beat-up belt that doesn't fit right.
Most guys are still wearing the belts.
Stretched out holes that either pin to your waist or snag and just throw off your whole look.
That's why I'm excited to have Anson Belt & Buckle as a sponsor of today's video.
Instead of poles, Anson uses the micro-adjustable track system with quarter-inch increments so your belt fits perfectly every single time.
Once you experience that kind of fit and comfort, trust me.
You will never want to wear a regular belt again.
I've been wearing mine non-stop and honestly, it's the best I've ever owned.
Once you try it, trust me, you'll never go back to old belts.

So be sure to go check them out down below.
But heading into tonight's game, I think there are some big changes that need to be made by the Bruins.
And pretty much all of them coming on the sentence.
If we look right here right now at what the pairings are from yesterday,
Zdorov, Conor Clifton, Pampas Lindholm, Will Borgen, Jonathan Astro, Mason Lowry.
I got to give a very quick shout out to Mason Lowry.
He's played great over his first two games after all the trade buzz that has been surrounding him all season long last year.
All off-season long.
He is still every day, every game fighting for a spot in this lineup.
And he's making it very hard for Marco Sturm to, you know, even question taking him out of the lineup.
So hopefully he does continue that because he's been playing great over a few games.
But some players who necessarily have not been.
Jonathan Astro really didn't have the best preseason.
Certainly has not had the best two games to start the season.
And I think there's one clear move as to what needs to be made.
And that's from one defenseman who hasn't made the team, but is a scratch.
Frederick Brunette.
It's time.
It's time to put him in.
I mean, I think there's no excuse at this point.
I think this is the perfect change to make because you're coming on the second half of a back-to-back.
Give him some fresh legs on defense.
Because from what we've seen over the first two games.
First game, Connor Clifton playing the most time on defense that this team had.
Taking a step down yesterday.
But you need the best players you can get out there.
And Frederick Brunette will provide that for you.
I think he should have started game one.
Should have been in game two.
But I understand the fact they want to try and get some players who have a little bit more experience under their belt.
But if we look at Frederick Brunette right now.
From what he's done throughout his career.
Mainly in the AHL last season with Providence.
You can even go back to the year before as well.
36 points in 65 games.
Not just is he a big body.
I mean, 6'3", 203.
But he's a great offensive player.
He's very good with his feet.
He's 23 years old.
Is a prime defenseman to now get developed into.
Someone who could be a star for this team for years to come.
I mean, if we're looking at really how this defense can transition.
You have Mason Lowry who's super young.
You have Frederick Brunette who's super young.
You're seeing the Bruins link to Simone Evinson.
Who I believe is actually the same age as Frederick Brunette.
23 years old.
If not, just a little bit older.
Right now, you want to see these younger guys getting into the lineup.
They are going to be the biggest help.
Because Conor Clinton, for example.
Although the first game he played a lot of time on ice.
Wasn't necessarily the best.
You see him again right here on the Simone.
The worst offensive looks per advanced stats in last night's game.
Right now with McAvoy out, you can't have that.
You know, you're lucky you had a goal last night in the final minutes of the game.
Then getting Kentucky using his speed to get that goal to win the game in overtime.
But you need the best guys available.
Because of how good the Atlantic is and the Eastern Conference is this season.
You want to try to make the playoffs.
Game three tonight will matter.
It don't matter what time it is in the season.
Every game matters.
And I think right now, looking at not just the schedule that we're going to be looking at over the coming games.
And I mean, while tonight, Monday to the Senators.
And then you got Thursday, Saturday again.
You know, Utah, Philadelphia, San Jose, Anaheim, LA, Dallas.
A lot of great teams here.
You want to make sure you're getting off to a hot start.
So being able to not just have fresh legs is going to be a good thing.
But getting a guy who you know is going to be a perfect fit for this team.
And ASAP will be the best bet.
You know, at the end of the day, this kind of leaves out perhaps Connor Clifton as a seventh defenseman.
Aspro is almost the eighth.
Once we see Roger Burnett in the lineup and McAvoy return.
The only thing is, Aspro likely would not clear waivers.
I can very much see him being claimed.
So you have a lot of questions now and some big decisions ahead.
And I think those should start as early as, you know, three and a half hours or four and a half hours
when this game does end up happening and the lines are decided.
So folks, give me your thoughts on this.
And one more shout out to Jeremy Swainman as well.
I think the thing we realize now is if he can see the puck, he is saving it.
So a very good look for the first two games of this season for the Boston Bruins.
Two wins, but you know, it's only early.
A lot of things are coming and a lot of good news and a lot of good looks are happening right now.
But big decisions are on the horizon as well.
So folks, give me your thoughts on this.
Do you think Frederick Burnett should crack the lineup for tonight's game or maybe wait a little bit?
Or let me know your plans.
I think there's a lot of options, but only a few very good ones for the Bruins should go up.
So give me your thoughts on this down below.
But that is all I have here in this video.
If you did enjoy, give it a like.
Hit the sub button as well.
I'm signing out.
Thank you for watching.
Hope you have a great day.
See you later.
