This changes everything for the New England Patriots after a big win in week number two
versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Focus now turns to the multitude of injuries that were suffered
in this afternoon's contest. We get updates on a couple of them. One very, very, very major and
bad update. And then a couple of other speculations that we look upon as we wait for Mike Vrabel to
confirm some of these injuries, talk about them in tomorrow's press conference. We have some,
a little bit of a news on them here tonight. So late night version of Patriots Digest. We
appreciate you watching and hope you're having a great day wherever you guys might be. We
appreciate real quickly just want to say thank you to everybody who joined the stream this morning
or this afternoon. Thanks to everybody who watched, who commented, who liked, who subscribed.
Really do appreciate you're really live for every single Patriots game throughout the season. So if
you want to watch the games with us, you can subscribe today and you can check us out every
single week, but there was a lot to go through here. So let's start with the major injury and
the biggest one that really is going to be a tough blow to this Patriots offense. Mike Owinyu went
down with a pretty significant injury. You could tell as soon as he went down in the replay after,
if you saw, I wouldn't go look it up, but if you saw very clear that this guy's season was
probably about to be over and we pretty much did get that confirmation today. Initial x-rays
revealed that Mike Owinyu's broken right ankle is what they saw. It's heartbreaking from Drake
Manning is what he said. When you see a guy like Mike who has played through injuries, been here
since he was a rookie, it leaves a lot out there and it sucks because, and this is a bad thing for
both parties, you have a final year of your contract here for Mike Owinyu and so that stinks
for him obviously trying to earn some money. Now he's going to have to, you know, come off an injury
and a pretty significant injury on top of it, but also the Patriots, you know, they thought they had
their guy there at Mike Owinyu in that hard spot. Now they might have to potentially reassess.
We'll kind of wait and see. The NFL will finish out week number two tomorrow when the New York
Giants take on the Los Angeles Rams. I'm going to trade yes on the New York Giants to win this game.
It looks pretty solid. I'm actually going to say they're going to win this game. The Rams didn't
look that good. $25 plus on them will get you $88, so pretty good odds right there. And on
cash, you're going to trade directly against other users, not the house. Like an additional sports
book, you're just buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of events across sports, politics,
weather, all real life events. Now, if you are interested in trying out cash today and trading
on tomorrow's game or trading on any of the future games here in the NFL, we've got a deal you can't
miss. Because if you use the link in the description or in the pinned comment of today's video and you
use this code when you sign up for an account, DigestNFL, you're going to get $25 out of your
account instantly. And right there is your first trade to make on whether you want to say the
Giants tomorrow or the Patriots next week as well. You can trade on them. So that's a pretty good
thing when they go and face off against the Jaguars. It's going to be a pretty tough game
with the Jacks. They didn't look too hot today against the Broncos. So there's that. Appreciate
you for sponsoring today's show. It's tough for Michael. It really is. There's no other way to put
this. Obviously, there were some other injuries we'll focus on here. Craig Woodson had a shoulder
injury. He was seen in a sling. Del Pettis in the safety. He was seen that he had an ankle injury.
He was out. Eli Rudin, he had a thigh injury. He was out, not to mention Draymond Jones,
who we'll talk about. So there's just there's a lot of things that are currently flying around
here. But obviously, Michael, when you is the biggest focal point here, especially when you
look at this offensive lineman, he was going to be that starting right guard throughout the entire
season. Greg Van Roten was the backup. He did come in. I again, today's game stats are not in PFF
yet. So take this with a grain of salt and tomorrow we'll look at the true PFF grade for Van Roten.
But in the first week when he had a couple of snaps here and there for the Patriots,
wasn't a great rating at 24.7. Just not great at all. We'll again see the official PFF grades
tomorrow. So we're not going to speculate on what that looks like with a little bit more of a rep
here than this week. But overall, he's been solid like 65. It's kind of been his mean throughout the
10 year career now. He's been in the NFL over 10 year career. So he's a veteran. He's 36 years old.
I wouldn't be shocked if the Patriots decided to go out and try and find a guard given when he's
out for the year. Obviously, they're going to have to try and find a backup in general, but
I might not be surprised if they go out there and we trade for a starting guard or maybe there's a
free agent out there they can go and sign, which of course we'll have a video on tomorrow at some
point talking about their options given the injury and given it's, you know, 99%, I would say even
100% probably a season long, you know, sustaining injury that will take them out for the entire
year, which sucks in week two. It really does, especially in a contract year form. But right now
focus for the Patriots is trying to figure out what to do in this position. When injuries happen,
you got to work around it. Now again, I said injuries happen and that was a lot of what
happened in week number two here for the New England Patriots. As mentioned here in earlier
part here, Craig Woodson, he was injured in this game. He was seen with an arm sling. I don't want
to speculate on him because we had literally no update. I went on Twitter. I went on Blue Sky. I
went on anywhere. I couldn't find anything on him. So I don't know exactly when, you know,
we're going to get an update probably tomorrow. We'll have a press conference with Mike Grebel.
He'll give us some updates on what the expectation is moving forward with these guys. That's just
unfortunate. But Patriots injuries are starting to stack up because through this year, you've had
Brennan Schooler who got injured. Harold Andrews still out. Julian Hill is on the IR for the entire
season. AJ Browns on the IR. Marcus Brown got hurt. Khalil Jacobs got hurt. Bryce Berenger still hurt.
We've had to bring up Wyschnowski the past couple weeks. Carlton Davis was out this week. Ben Brown
has been hurt. Demetrius Cronenberg was out this week. Michael Wenuh now is going to be out for the
season. You've got Draymond Jones and Marcus Jones who also got injured in this game. So
there's just a lot of things that are just starting to stack up when it comes to, you know,
what exactly is going to kind of transpire here over the next couple of weeks for the New England
Patriots. I do want to focus on one that wasn't mentioned just yet, or at least not talked about
enough. Draymond Jones had a shoulder injury in this one and was pretty quickly ruled out early
part of the game. He was walking over to the sideline very gently, kind of holding a shoulder
down. I'll just pop up the kind of picture you can see here. Kind of holding it like this, kind
of hanging down. Everybody kind of thinks this is a dislocated shoulder. You know, it's popped
out of socket. Obviously, that's a tough injury. He immediately ran back to the locker room.
Usually, when this happens, an injury could keep you out for four weeks. I don't, again,
we don't know what the full official injury designation is. Was it a dislocated shoulder?
What happened to it? We don't know. But if it is that, it's a four-week recovery time,
probably at minimum. So in that case scenario, you lost Michael Wenuh today for the season.
You put it just off Draymond Jones for the next four games when you're already missing Harold
Gabackis. Thank goodness. He's a great man. Aaron Rodgers, even after the game, talked about how
he was impressed with Gabackis and what he was able to do. He almost had a touchdown,
had Aaron Rodgers not tackled him. So I'm a little worried, of course, about Craig Woodson as well.
I don't love where that injury stands. So just a lot of different things. Obviously,
prayers up to all these guys and hopefully they can come back as soon as humanly possible.
Michael Wenuh, a tough one for him. Contract year. I think he might be the worst of the bunch
just because of the situation that he's in, the situation the Patriots are now forced to be in,
not just this year but moving forward in the future. They love him. He's been here since
his rookie year. Do they grant him another contract not knowing what he's going to look
like after injury? There's just so many questions with that. But here's what he was saying on his
Instagram story. I appreciate the concern and well wishes. I'm cool. Can't nothing stop what
God has for me. See you at the top, BRB. Really do love Michael Wenuh. Don't watch the video.
It's pretty not good. It's a trigger warning for sure. But overall, probably one of the more
significant injuries here is definitely going to be him. But obviously watching a lot of these
guys, Draymond Jones, that's a big one as well. But I do want you to get in the comments section
and let me know which, I guess, injury you're most concerned or what's the most pivotal injury
that you're looking at? I know that I want to say it is probably the season-long injury. Like,
I don't think they can beat Wenuh being gone for the year. But I also know that if you are out
Harold Landry or rather Draymond Jones for the next four weeks, that just destroys your defensive
edge rushing. Like, I guess, like, Ponder was great, had the scoop and score, had a sack,
looked good. But I just, it just really puts you in a tough spot in the depth wise in that
edge rushing room as well, the outside linebacker. So we'll wait and get some official diagnosis for
all these injuries tomorrow from Mike Frabel. Again, we don't know what exactly he's going to
say, what it might entail, and of course, all the details behind it. But we will have it for
you here on the show. So we appreciate you watching. We'll see you next time here on
Patriot's Digest. Peace out.
