The Nuggets are hiding their SECRET WEAPON...
Sep 10, 2026
The Denver Nuggets are hiding their secret weapon for their team next season and this
is perfect for the squad as there's been a lot of discourse surrounding David Adleman's
rotations and also a major weakness for this team right now.
And now the Nuggets, they do have a big way to improve upon it while also subsequent moves
should be expected as the Nuggets are not done with making deals considering training
camp does allow you to carry 20 players.
We'll see the Nuggets make more moves and also unleash a guy who the NBA forgot about
but the Nuggets didn't.
We're going to go into how that matters so much, why it is so good for the team.
But guys, real quick, make sure to go ahead and subscribe if you are part of that 70%
that is not yet currently subscribed.
We got videos coming out every single day.
We're back on that grind.
We're on that road to 4K.
It's completely free to hit that subscription button.
And guys, let's jump into it because I know that in general, none of us are too high on
David Adleman right now.
Very few of us are riding the David Adleman bus, but at the end of the day, look, he's
the coach.
He's going to be the coach this season.
Obviously, he could get fired halfway through the year, but I expect that would only happen
if things took a real, real poor turn.
Now, yes, if there is another disappointing run at the end of this year, he's probably
gone.
Tenzer and Wallace are probably gone.
There's probably going to be a very big overhaul that involves a lot of people not named Jokic
unless Jokic demands a trade out of here, which I just don't think he's going to do.
So they're going to need to keep winning on the margins, something the Nuggets have not
been doing recently.
Honestly, over the last couple of years, they've been losing on the margins, losing guys like
Bruce Brown now twice unless they do re-sign him, which is possible.
It feels unlikely.
And also losing out on other pieces as well, missing on some draft picks and frankly, just
not doing what it takes to win an NBA championship.
So they made a move recently that absolutely does help them do that, and that is none other
than Lonnie Walker.
Bringing in Lonnie Walker was an absolutely excellent move for this team, but I don't
think people realize how big of a move this is.
And look, Walker's a talented player.
He's been a talented player overseas for a bit now, but on top of that, one of the biggest
things surrounding Walker as a player is that he really fits perfectly on the Nuggets, pretty
much better than any other roster you could even find on the team right now, which is
obviously just so important for Denver because when we look at Walker, there is a lot of
hype around him right now to really, really, really perform, and the Nuggets are going
to need him to because they do want to win a championship, and right now, if you believe
in the Nuggets, you've got a great chance, and I want to thank Kalshi for sponsoring
today's video because guys, right now, this is the place to be.
As on Kalshi, you're trading directly against other users, not the house like traditional
sportsbooks.
You're buying yes or no contracts on the outcome of events across sports, politics, and even
the weather, and guys, for example, you can take the Denver Nuggets, you can buy on the
Denver Nuggets winning the championship by yes, and when you play $25, you can win $585
through Kalshi and trading yes on them winning the finals, and guys, here is the best part.
If you're interested in trying out Kalshi, use the link in the description to trade $25
with code DigestNBA and get $25 added to your account instantly.
Now, that is a steal, but not as big of a steal as Lonnie Walker is because Walker is
super, super, super talented.
Sports Illustrated highlighted some stuff on Lonnie Walker right here saying, the Nuggets
are heading into training camp with Lonnie Walker on a non-guaranteed contract, meaning
they will owe him $3.5 million if he takes or if he makes the final 15-man roster.
While they would likely prefer to keep their final roster spot open, they need guard depth,
and Walker could be the low-risk move they need to take.
At his best, Walker is an impressive scoring threat who could shoot from deep and attack
defenses inside.
On their current bench, they have Julian Strother, DeMar DeRozan, and Marvin Bagley who can all
make an offensive impact, but having another ball handler who can put pressure on defenses
could be what they need.
Saying that looking at some of the top NBA teams from last season, we saw the Thunder
with AJ Mitchell and Jared McCain and Kayson Walsh, the San Antonio Spurs had Dylan Harper,
the champion New York Knicks had Miles McBride, Jordan Clarkson, Landry Shemit, and Jose Alvarado.
Could the Nuggets come out of the Western Conference with just Tyus Jones and Julian
Strother?
No, they cannot.
I like Walker, and Lonnie Walker can handle the ball pretty well.
A point guard?
No.
But do the Nuggets have the best playmaker in the NBA at center?
Yes, they do, in fact.
Jokic is the NBA's best playmaker today, and as long as that's the case, you can use a
guy who's not a traditional point guard in that spot when Jokic is on the floor.
Also having Tamar DeRozan, who really can run an offense when you need him to, especially
off the bench against other bench units, the Nuggets, they have a little bit of leeway
to add a guy like Walker and have a bigger unit who all of them can handle some ball
handling duties as well, so it doesn't all fall on DeRozan to where that becomes part
of his job.
And it also gives insurance for Tyus Jones, a man who has certainly struggled over this
last season.
Jones was really unable to perform at the level that we were all hoping he would be
able to perform at.
I actually liked the deal when it happened, and in 67 games he played 14 minutes, but
he didn't put up the numbers we hoped for at all.
Three points and two and a half assists, shooting 35% from the field, and under 30% from three
is just not going to cut it.
The defense is certainly there.
He's a very talented defender, he can guard other point guards well, he's very, very fast,
he's a great athlete, but at the end of the day, he is not a high leverage backup point
guard.
And when Jamal Murray has struggled in the playoffs, you really do hope to have someone
who can do that.
And honestly, Lonnie Walker has had some great moments in the playoffs in his career.
Now, yes, the Nuggets also have another option.
Best option that we've ever seen?
No.
But it's an option.
They can still sign Gabe Vincent, who is still currently a free agent.
Vincent put up four and a half points and one rebound with one and a half assists, and
didn't shoot much better.
Did shoot 34% from three, and did have kind of a weird season bouncing between the Lakers
and Hawks in low-volume roles.
But with both having Jones and bringing in Vincent, at least on a training camp deal
like what they did with Walker, all of a sudden, you get a few different ways you can go with
this team.
I mean, honestly, there's a couple routes that could make sense.
And right now, another backup point guard really does make sense for the team.
And I do love the idea of Lonnie, because he is pretty damn underrated, if you do ask
me.
I mean, there's a guy throughout his career who's been a 10-point per game scorer, only
got 1.5 assists per game.
But in his last season with Philly, he actually had a career high in assists, with 2.5.
And put up good numbers overall in the 2024-25 season, once he signed with the 76ers.
12 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.5 assists, shooting 35% from three and 43% from the field.
He's a legit NBA bench player, and frankly, it really feels like he's been forgotten about.
He had a good season with the Lakers and capped that off in a great way.
The man, I mean, obviously lost to the Nuggets, but the man led the Lakers to a huge win that
sealed their victory over the Golden State Warriors to win the right to get swept by
the Nuggets.
And overall, Walker does make sense on this team.
They could use him on back cuts.
Between DeRozan and Yoke being on the floor, you could have Lonnie in as the point guard.
And frankly, you could use a bigger lineup just surrounding cuts, and also having Yoke
run the floor like he does anyway.
So honestly, to me, this is the type of move that the Nuggets have made that they really
need to cash in on.
Because again, as I said, it's been a while since they've won on the margins with this
team.
They need moves like this to work.
This is how championship teams are built, though.
You need those X-Factor guys.
All teams have.
Look at the Knicks this last year.
It happened with Landry Shammott and Jose Alvarado.
They were pulled, especially Shammott, who, if I recall correctly, missed 1-3 in the Eastern
Conference Finals.
Overall, that's the big thing here.
Everyone has an X-Factor guy.
Walker's already been that on a team that went to the Conference Finals a few years
ago with the Lakers.
He could do it again.
But I am curious what you guys think, so let me know in the comments down below.
