But today we're here talking about the Minnesota Wild as they have
been proven to be one of the best teams in the NHL this year.
Having a great start with a lot
of players making history club-wise, NHL-wise.
So let's get right into it and talk about the star in Minnesota
and that's Kirill Kaprizov as he's been having
a very dominant start to this season.
It is very scary to be honest with you guys
as he's leading Minnesota's attack right now.
and he has put himself up in the record books yet again
as Kirill Kaprizov has 10 goals in nine games
and becomes the sixth active player to reach 10 goals
in nine games or fewer in a season.
He joins Matthews, Ovi, Pasternak, Kucherov, Crosby,
all great goal scorers in the history of the league.
So it's great to see Kaprizov put himself up
with some high-ranking players in the NHL.
10 goals through nine games is absurd.
Over a goal per game right now for Kirill Kaprizov is unbelievable,
which has led him to 15 points on the season.
He already adds five assists to those 10 goals.
He has 31 shots on net, which has led to 10 goals.
That is insane play from Kirill Kaprizov here early on.
And just looking at his shot volume, he's getting way more confident
as the season goes on, as he's scoring more goals.
You see here, over the last five games,
he's averaging four shots a game,
which is great for Kirill Kaprizov.
One game hitting the six mark.
This is a guy who is very confident in his shot right now,
very confident in his goal-scoring ability,
and when he finds his spot and finds his place to let that wrister go,
he's finding the back of the net with ease,
and you love to see that from Kirill Kaprizov.
He's coming out like a man on a mission this year.
He wants to win a Stanley Cup,
and he's shown it here early in this season.
And if we kind of just look, you know, he's finishing crazy right now.
Like you see, he's expected to have 6.2 goals
at this point in the season.
Right now, he's at 10, and he's shooting at 29.4%, which is crazy.
And a bunch of these goals coming from the inner slot,
a couple coming from the slot,
and then just a couple coming from the blue line.
So he's been scoring very effectively, obviously, in this inner slot.
When they find him down there, he's redirecting the pucks in.
He's taking big shots.
He's just a great player and a great goal scorer in this league.
and you kind of see right now he's
on a six game active point streak he is ripping up the league
and just tearing it apart like he is playing
some unbelievable hockey here to start this season
and has led to you know the early success here
for Minnesota getting six wins here early on in
the season which is great to get six wins through nine games
their team that in the in this in their
division I think is going to probably win it I think they
are a really good team this year
they didn't really lose much from last season
and last year I thought they were my favorite to win
the Stanley Cup and I think this year I might have them again just
as an early play Matt Boldy
we're going to talk with him a bit is continuing
on his success last season they're playing some
great hockey but of course we got to talk about Quinn Hughes
as he's unlocking Minnesota stars
with his passing ability he's just unbelievable quarterback
for this offense five on five and on
the power play we see here he says it's just
so fun playing with them I feel like when we're out
there we tilt the ice just saying yeah we're
having fun we're winning games we're putting
points up and every time we step out on the ice we feel like
the ice is tilted in our favor which
and when the when the team is that confident that's great to hear
and so far through the
season he has 10 assists with two goals putting him up
for 12 points averaging 26 minutes a night
on ice I mean he's just eating minutes for this team
and he's doing a great job four blocks one
hit for him as well so far this season
so he's doing his job I mean we know Quinn Hughes is
probably one of the best puck moving defensemen
in the league right now a guy who can also score
goals from there as well so I really like Quinn Hughes
and when they traded for this guy I just
thought Minnesota's this is their this is their window
to win a Stanley Cup and I definitely think
this year could be the year for Minnesota in my opinion
and we just kind of take a look here
you know at a scouting report his assists
are strength one assist a game so far points is
at one point a game uh so far as well power play points he's half
a power play point a game which
is crazy and he's got three shots uh on goal game obviously
his hits are a bit of his weakness and
his giveaways but the giveaways numbers isn't too
too bad like having what is it like what what
would it be like nine giveaways so far this season yeah it is hard
but i mean when he's putting up
this much offense you know you can look the other way
on that to be honest with you guys but looking
at their special teams he's been a big big part
of this power play being a massive 32 percent this
season which is crazy one of the highest ranking power plays
in the entire league their penalty
kill at an 89 as well
so their special teams are getting it done uh Hughes has five points
on the power play this year which is great uh
so yeah they've been doing great obviously uh Spurgeon
is leading the way in terms of
penalty killing. So, they've just
been so good at all aspects of the ice.
Five on five. Power play. Penalty kill. They're
doing it, especially, you know, in the
net as well, which we're going to talk about a little bit later in this
video. But Quinn Hughes just says, the more we
play together, the better we're going to be.
The more chemistry we're going to build, and the more we're
just going to rip teams apart. So, it's
great to see Quinn Hughes have this confidence, and
his team have this confidence early on, and
hopefully we can see it continue for the Minnesota
Wild going forward. And obviously, I did want to
talk about Matt Boldy as he adds
another scoring threat for this team
and he made some history
himself, some club
history. Matt Boldy's 6-4
point game is the second most in Minnesota
Wild history. Matt Boldy
became the third fastest active
American skater to record five hat tricks
behind James Thompson and Jason Robertson
as well. So Boldy's just been having an
unbelievable start to the year as well
just looking at his kind of stats so far
this season. He's breaking records
in the NHL and club wise. He's
got five goals, two assists, seven points
through the first nine games.
He's playing great 41 shots on goal.
This guy's a great goal scorer in this league.
And him and Kaprizov are really leading the team
in terms of forward scoring.
And these guys are great together.
I think Matt Boldy's a guy who could definitely get back
to the 50 mark this year in terms of goals.
So I really like this Minnesota Wild team.
And they're a dangerous team going forward, no doubt about it.
They've got some great players in the bottom six as well.
And just kind of looking back at Matt Boldy,
he's got four shots a game, which is great.
Seeing he's confident in shooting the puck,
and he's confident that every time he shoots, he's going to go in.
Obviously, his goals a game he's averaging about a goal
every other game right now, which is great.
Same with a plus-minus.
He's a plus .067 per game,
so he's not out there for a lot of goals,
which is great to see his takeaways.
He's getting a takeaway every other game,
which is great to see for him as well, which is awesome.
He's got a lot of confidence in himself.
He's obviously wasn't worried about it.
He's got a lot of confidence in his game right now,
and you love to see a player like that
looking at his shots you know there's games like
you see here we had eight shots in one game seven
shots and another like he's he's just confident
with uh the puck on his stick right now he's in
flow state in terms of shooting
and you love to see that from a guy like Matt Boldy and of course
another guy who's in flow state right now is Jesper Wallstedt uh
who is backing Minnesota's
firepower offense with some great starts here uh six one
and one which ties for first in the NHL
wins eighth in save percentage and also goals against as well
so he's having a great start to
the year just putting that all together
and see what it looks like on on the paper here is nine
two one save percentage with a oh just two goals against
with six wins he's playing some great
hockey right now you love to see
this from Jesper Wallstedt he's he's just a great goaltender
we look at all this quality starts he's had here
he's had plays had seven starts and six of them
have been quality starts obviously he's lost some games
but they've been great starts still
them in quality starts so he's playing really good hockey making
a lot of games game saving saves
bailing out the defense at times
and you love to see Jesper Wallstedt come in this season and just be
an absolute anchor in the net for this team
and just giving them a lot more confidence to
you know maybe you know they know he has his back
so they have a lot more confidence to
you know like guys like Quinn Hughes to pinch in make a play happen
and they know Jesper Wallstedt
that's going to be back there to, you know, deny these opportunities
if, you know, he can't quite get back in time.
So it's great to see that as well.
Just kind of looking at the high danger chances.
He's saving a lot of high danger chances here early on.
You know, the medium danger and low dangers are a bit lower,
but nothing to jump off the page at for sure.
So that's not bad.
So some great goaltending coming from this team.
Some great offense.
It's just David's been putting it all together.
So what do you guys think?
What makes Minnesota the most dangerous?
Is it their goaltending?
Is it Kaprizov?
the Hughes and Boldy, let me know what you guys
are feeling down below in the comment section but it's
great to see Minnesota pick up where they left off, they're
on a tear, they all want to win a Stanley
Cup and if they all keep playing like this there's
not gonna be many teams that shut them down so let
me know what you guys are feeling down
in the comment section, do you think it's the year for the
Minnesota Wild, love to hear your guys thoughts
on that down below, what's been your favorite moment of
this season so far and while you're down there leave
