Texans Reveal MAJOR Injury Updates / THERE COMING BACK!
2 Video Views·Oct 6, 2026
The Houston Texans have revealed major injury updates as multiple players on the team who have been sidelined this season with injuries are expected to return from IR.
However, does it even matter now that the team is 0-4 on the season?
What's up ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host as always, Isaac Estrada.
Man, we got some new updates today regarding some players coming back from IR this week.
Three big names.
We're going to dive into all that and more today on Texans Digest because we need some good news, man.
We need some good news with this team being 0-4 on the season.
But right before we dive into that, man, about 90% of you guys still not subscribed.
So, do your boy a favor, hit that subscribe button.
You're going to be getting daily updates here on Texans Digest.
Man, let's not waste any more time.
So, as we know, the Houston Texans fell to the Dallas Cowboys 34-30 in yesterday's game.
We're officially 0-4 on the season.
Very disappointing start.
And today, headed into today, I was like, man, what am I going to talk about?
There's nothing good going on with this team right now.
We're 0-4.
There's no bright light at the end of the tunnel right now.
This team is 0-4.
People are asking for D'Amico Ryan's head.
They want him off this team.
What is there any good news?
We got a little bit of good news, though.
We got a little bit of good news as D'Amico Ryan did talk to the media today
and when he was getting asked a whole lot of questions.
And when I was going across social media platforms and seeing people just absolutely destroying D'Amico Ryan in the comments,
this was the one thing that was considered good news.
This week, we expect to open the window for Tankdell, Braden Smith, and Kaden McDonald.
Those are three big names who are expected to return in the near future.
Of course, their window has been opened, so they can return this week against the Tennessee Titans,
or they can return next week.
It really depends, but we should expect to see all three of these players back pretty soon.
And the big name on that list, obviously, Tankdell.
We need that, man.
Obviously, this week, the offense was a lot better.
I am not going to give the credit of that to Nick Kaley.
There were still multiple plays drawn up where I looked at it and was like, why in the world did you draw that playoff?
Why in the world on first and second down if the running game clearly isn't working,
if this offensive line clearly isn't doing their job?
Why in the world are we running it with David Montgomery on first and second down
and then leaving C.J. Stroud in a terrible spot on third down?
Multiple times, I saw that on this past Sunday's game.
If you guys remember in the fourth quarter, first and 20,
this man Nick Kaley right here draws up a screenplay to Foster Monroe.
To the backup tight end, we're getting a...
Don't get me wrong, Foster Monroe, great player, but a screenplay on first and 20 is absolutely ridiculous.
I could hassle him all day about him not being a good offensive coordinator.
You guys know that.
What I want to talk about today is does it affect the Houston Texans to have these guys back in a positive way?
Because we're 0-4 right now, man.
There's not a whole lot good going on with this team.
I've seen a lot of people today, today, across all Houston Texans platforms,
across all fan pages, all anybody is talking about is,
okay, are we firing D'Amico Ryans? Are we firing Nick Kaley?
Are we firing both of them? Is this C.J. Stroud's last year on the team?
That's all anybody's talking about.
I want to bring a little bit of positivity to this team because this is big news, man.
Look at this. Last time Tank Dell was healthy.
Let's put this on an even bigger screen, man.
The last time Tank Dell was healthy, he had 667 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Obviously, he got really badly hurt in 2024 in that divisional round game against the Kansas City Chiefs
where he came up just short on that.
He went out in style, though, had himself a touchdown before he got down.
And since then, we haven't seen Tank Dell.
We really missed him last season, and obviously, we really want him back this season.
If you look at the stats here in 2023 and 2024, Tank Dell was phenomenal.
Across two seasons as a rookie, or in his first two seasons, excuse me,
he hauled in a total of 98 catches, 1,300 yards, and 10 touchdowns in his first two years.
We really needed him back on the team.
We needed this man back in a big way this season.
We didn't get him, unfortunately, but his window has officially opened for him to return.
That is some big news because we need it, man.
I know what a lot of people are saying, like, no, the offense looked great.
I think the offense looked great because Niko Collins was doing his job
and because C.J. Stroup was doing his job,
not because Nick Caley's the bench offensive coordinator and he finally opened up the playbook.
It's because C.J. Stroup had a phenomenal game.
I'm not willing to give that to Nick Caley on the props there.
C.J. Stroup should be giving himself a pat on the back, but, you know,
he even talked to the media today and said if it's not going to result in a win, it doesn't matter.
And I agree with that.
But, man, I want to take a look at Kaden McDonald.
Let's not forget, man, when we drafted this guy, everyone was saying this was the steal of the draft.
This man was a projected first-round pick, fell to us in the second round, and we snagged him.
Great decision by the Houston Texans.
Obviously, he's missed the first month of the season with injury.
Let's not forget, man, this guy was a massive game changer.
When looking at the NFL scouting report, obviously, this isn't end-all be-all,
but this is a pretty good indication of what we're expected to look like
in at least the first few years with the player.
This guy was projected as a 6.39 prospect grade, which is actually really good.
Will eventually be a plus starter.
I think he could be a day one starter.
Prospect info from Ohio State, obviously.
Look at this, 326 pounds, 6'2", freak of nature.
The fact that we were able to snag this guy in the second round is still beyond me.
And I think that's great that he's returning.
Let's not forget, man, this guy was literally, people were saying he could start day one.
Look at his strengths.
Rare tackle.
Production for interior defender.
Built with well-proportioned thickness.
Jolts blockers with his knockback power.
Uses leverage to pierce gaps and disrupt play designs.
Excellent run game recognition from early in the snap.
I think if we're ever struggling against a run game,
this is the kind of guy we need on the field.
We need this kind of guy to stop.
Obviously, our defensive line is great.
It could be even better with this guy on there.
We were talking about what he could look like having him on the field
with Will Anderson Jr., with the Neil Hunter.
We were talking about how good that could be.
We haven't been able to see that so far.
I'm excited to get him back.
Fights to maintain run fits against wide-eye blocking schemes.
Very good change of directions.
Quickness in small spaces.
This is a 326 pound man that is moving at half of his weight class.
I'm excited to see him back.
And as Houston Texans right now, we should be excited about this.
You know why?
Because we should be excited about something.
We should be excited about something,
considering the fact that headed into this season,
we were one of the Super Bowl favorites,
and right now we're 0-4.
Be happy about something, guys.
Come on.
Now, obviously, Brayden Smith, that was a very low blow.
We had joint practices against the Carolina Panthers in the offseason.
I believe it was in the beginning of August.
Brayden Smith did get injured.
He was expected to miss at least a month of a season.
A month of a season has passed by.
His window is officially open.
In my opinion, this could arguably be the biggest position we need.
Because Brayden Smith, man, we absolutely need him back on the field.
That offensive line is not good.
Multiple times in the last game.
I wish I had the photo here.
I don't have it anymore.
But multiple times in the last game,
CJ Stroup takes a snap, takes a step back,
and he already has three defenders looking at him in his face.
I know Brayden Smith isn't going to solve all that.
Rutledge still needs time to develop.
Developing behind a veteran would be great for him.
Or just having that veteran presence.
This offensive line needs some help, man.
This offensive line needs help for CJ Stroup's sake,
for David Montgomery and Woody Mark's sake,
and maybe even for D'Amico Ryan's sake.
Because a lot of people want that man fired.
They want him out of here.
So I think he might be one of the biggest returns
that we could be looking forward to.
Now, something I want to ask you guys.
Something I really want to ask you guys.
Will this even make a difference for Houston?
Right now, we're 0-4 on the season.
There feels like there's no bright light at the end of the tunnel,
unless you want to count playing the Tennessee Titans this weekend.
That might be the only bright light that we're seeing right now.
Obviously, Tennessee Titans are a dumpster fire right now.
They're having a lot of issues with Cam Ward.
A lot of people are questioning his leadership.
But both of us are 0-4 and desperately need a win.
So does it even make a difference for Houston?
Having Tank Dell back.
Having Kayden McDonald back.
Having Brandon Smith back.
Is it even going to make a difference?
Yes, no, or let's wait and see.
I don't know how much longer we need to be waiting to see.
Obviously, these guys aren't 100% expected to come back this week.
But we should expect them to even be back this weekend or next week.
So, very excited and looking forward to that.
Something I do want to remind you guys.
I know I wanted to talk about some positive news today.
But man, this is something insane to look at right here.
The Houston Texans' last win.
January, AFC wild card game versus the Steelers.
That was the last time we won a football game.
That was the last time the Houston Texans tasted victory.
And if you guys remember after that game,
CJ Stroud was going up to Steelers fans saying,
Ha ha, you're mad.
Since then, we haven't won a football game.
We need something, man.
This team needs something in order to succeed.
We're going to dive deeper into it later on this week.
About what it's going to take for this team to finally get going.
And what it's going to take for this team to finally activate it.
And what's even going on.
Who needs to be fired?
What needs to be changed?
We're going to dive into all that and more.
Because a lot of people are saying.
A lot of people, man, are saying.
Okay, the Houston Texans clearly have been figured out defensively.
And that's not the kind of position we should be in.
Especially as a defense that was ranked number one headed into the league.
So, we're going to dive into all that and more later on this week, man.
But I do think we should be happy about those players returning.
It's the big news.
And we need big news right now in a time when this team is 0-4 on the season.
Thank you guys so much for watching today on Texans Digest.
We're going to take a deep dive into it later on throughout the week.
About what this team needs to do better.
But, man, that's just all we have for today.
So, thank you guys for watching.
Have a great day. Have a blessed day.
I'll see you guys tomorrow.
