Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe Houston Texans have gained significant momentum following their first win of the season against the Tennessee Titans and a blockbuster trade for wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. By reuniting Harrison Jr. with C.J. Stroud, the Texans have drastically upgraded their offensive potential as they pivot toward a determined push for the playoffs.
This makes the Texans terrifying,
as the Houston Texans not only get their first win of the season,
but also make the huge trade we were all expecting.
How does this new acquisition fit in with the roster,
and is it still time to make a playoff push?
What's up, ladies and gentlemen? Welcome back to Texans Digest.
I'm your host, as always, Isaac Estrada.
Man, we got a lot we need to talk about today.
The Houston Texans did make the big trade we were all expecting.
Plus, they win their first game of the season,
leaving a lot of us to question,
can they still make the playoffs?
We're going to dive into all that and more today on Texans Digest.
but man right before we do that about 90%
of you guys still not subscribed so do your boy a favor
hit that subscribe button you're going
to be getting daily updates here on Texans Digest
man let's dive right into it
so we had gotten this report yesterday following the win to the
Tennessee Titans the Arizona Cardinals
are trading Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Texans in a blockbuster
per Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter
so the trade details are official they got updated today so
this is official.
It's Marvin Harrison Jr. and a sixth rounder to Houston.
Cardinals in return get
a second rounder and a seventh rounder for this upcoming draft.
Big trade, man. Huge trade for
the Houston Texans. Some big news.
We needed some help offensively. I know a lot of people have been
talking about, hey, how does this help
the offensive line? How does this help the run game?
We're actually going to dive into that as well,
man, because I think it genuinely does help both
of those aspects. Man, so let's dive right into it.
What does the Marvin Harrison Jr. trade mean
for Houston. The CJ Stroud
and Marvin Harrison connection could be huge. Let's talk about it,
man. So CJ Stroud, when he was talking to the media,
this is what he had to say when talking
about Marvin Harrison Jr. I think he brings a dynamic playmaker,
someone who can run great
routes, can really catch any ball.
Man, I am just really excited to get with him. I loved him in
college. Probably one of the hardest workers I have
been around. So that was one of the big
things about Marvin Harrison Jr. before this trade happened is,
hey, he's sloppy. He looks lazy.
He looks like he's not really getting it together.
You just got a vouch from your quarterback,
your now current quarterback, and also your
quarterback in college when you were having
the best seasons of your pro football career,
that he's one of the hardest workers he's seen.
So I don't think that's anything that Houston
Texans fans need to be worried about.
And C.J.
Stroud and Marvin Harrison Jr., that connection has worked before.
We've seen it before.
And not only that, in the NFL, we've seen C.J.
Stroud be great.
We can all agree we've seen C.J.
Stroud be great in this league.
We've seen him be great this season so far.
He just had a great game against Tennessee,
and we've also seen Marvin Harrison Jr. be
great in this league.
Obviously, this year, he's had his struggles.
We're going to dive into it, man, because I
don't think that's all his fault, but seeing
that they already are working together,
seeing that there's already that connection, that
CJ is like, man, it's great to have him.
We're already going to get to working.
That's already a great connection to see,
and something else I want to dive into.
Chris Carter, when talking on the Up and Adam show this morning,
they were talking about
the Marvin Harrison trade.
Chris Carter, of course, Hall of Fame player in the NFL.
This is what he had to say.
I guarantee you when they come up with the game plan
and when they do put him in on the field,
he will not leave the field as a starter
and only having two, three, four targets.
So that's what Chris Carter had to say on the Up and Adam show.
Chris Carter, of course, legendary wide receiver.
But something I want to point out is what he said there at the end.
He will not leave the field as a starter
and only see two, three, or four targets.
that was Marvin's biggest issue in Arizona
was the fact that he was getting targeted
what one to two times a game maybe three
if he's lucky we're gonna pull it up on the big screen
right now man because I think that was his biggest issue
this year that was his biggest issue this
year obviously right there it says his team is Houston
but the 2026 stats account for his
Cardinals days he had 12 targets across a month
of the season for five receptions 85 yards and
one touchdown that is what Chris Carter is talking about
that is what Chris is talking about when he
says, hey, he's not going to be leaving the field with two,
three, four targets. That's exactly what
happened in Arizona. I will say he struggled
a little bit this year in Arizona. I'm going to
give him that. I'm going to say that.
But I don't under any circumstances think that it's 100% his
fault. You want him to be that star wide receiver.
Don't you think he should be getting more than
two targets a game, two, three targets a game?
Let's see. He played four games. He had 12 targets
on the season. He's averaging about three targets a game.
That's insane. That's insane for a guy who
should be a generational talent
and it was very evident that Arizona was not utilizing him
correctly and not only were they
not utilizing him correctly they didn't care to utilize him
correctly they talked to the head coach
for the Arizona Cardinals they talked to the quarterback
Jacoby Brissett both of them
when asking about Marvin Harrison Jr. before he got traded they
said well you know we got other guys
on this team you asked Jacoby Brissett hey how come Marvin
isn't getting involved much
his response well we have another receiver on this team who we just
paid so you know we got to get him involved as well
when talking to the head coach his response
hey Trey McBride is one of the best tight ends
in the league he's one of the best underneath guys
we got to get him involved as well that's
not the response you say whenever you're talking about hey
why is your star wide receiver not getting involved what
those responses told me what those
responses told me is that they don't value him
as a number one wide receiver and they don't care to
see him as a number one wide receiver I had talked
about it before can you guys imagine if Nico
Collins played every single game this season
not only did he play every single game this season
but when they were talking to DeMeco Ryans
and they said hey Nico Collins is hardly getting
involved Nico Collins only has 12 targets
on the season again this is a hypothetical if DeMeco
Ryan's response was well you know Tank Dell's
coming back soon well you know Dalton Schultz
is one of the best tight ends in the league
that's not a response you want to hear about
why your star player is getting less
and less reps on the field and I think on this team Chris
knocked it on the head man Marvin Harrison Jr. is not going
to come on this team he's not going to
be that wide receiver one or probably a wide receiver two
and only have two three four targets
that's just not what we're going to see
and I completely agree we're going to see a lot more
than that out of Marv.
Now, this is the crazy part that we need to break down. This is the
crazy part. So, Adam Schefter was on the Pat McAfee show today.
They were asking him about
the trade. They were asking him, hey,
what's going on with this trade? How come we didn't
get the trade? We knew he was getting traded,
but we didn't know where he was getting traded.
Adam Schefter said this, there are trades that come together,
but they don't often come together
up against the game. Marvin Harrison Jr. was informed
that he wasn't going to play on Sunday
because they were working out a trade.
That's what Adam Schefter had to say.
And we had talked about it.
If you follow this channel very closely, which you should,
we had talked about it on the post on this channel
and also on the shorts.
The trade was in place.
Evan Sitterly, multiple other sources claimed it.
The trade was in place for Marvin Harrison Jr.
to be a Houston Texan.
The issue was, is that the Houston Texans wanted to see,
are we going to win this game against the Tennessee Titans?
If we're going to win this game,
okay, we're getting a little bit of momentum.
We know that this team can be a winning team.
We know that we can still make a playoff push.
then Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to be a great acquisition
to this team I had talked about it
before I think that was the game where you're like man
if we lose to the 0-4 at the time Tennessee
Titans a team that is dramatically struggling
they can't even get a touchdown on the board
if we're struggling against that team we don't need
to make this trade then we got a lot more
going on than just unlucky wins right
and that's exactly what it seemed like the Houston Texans
wanted to do so it was kind of interesting
to see man that Marvin Harrison Jr. the trade was in
place. They were ready to ship him off to Houston,
but Houston said, let's wait to see if we beat the
Titans. It's exactly what they did. I had called it.
I said, hey, this is going to be an easy win.
Not only is it going to be that, they're going
to beat the Brakes off this team. That's a holy
voice crack, by the way, but that's exactly what happened.
Houston Texans put a whooping on the
Tennessee Titans. Tennessee Titans are not a good football team.
The Houston Texans should have done
that, and I said, hey, you can't go into this game
and skate out with the 20-17 win. You have to
absolutely decimate this team. Houston did a great job at that.
Will Anderson Jr. left this game with
three sacks carrying the body of Cam Newton.
He was doing so, or not Cam Newton, Cam Ward. He was
doing so well. This defense looked great.
This offense looked pretty serviceable in the first
half. Second half, they let it go.
C.J. Stroud got himself a rushing touchdown. That's how you know
the offense is running. Got himself a passing one as well.
Something I want to look at now.
Marvin Harrison Jr. on this team.
This was the last time we saw him really have a full season.
was in 2025. Had 41 catches for 608 yards.
Great season, man. It was a good season by him. He only
played 12 games. I think if he would have played all 17,
it would have been a much different story.
But I think that's the kind of Marv we're going
to be getting back. CJ is going to target this
guy early and often. CJ Stroud, throughout the season,
the run game has not been there. He's
been throwing the ball, spreading it out a lot more.
So I think it's going to greatly benefit
him to have Marvin on the team.
No offense to our other wide receivers, but I don't think they can
do it like Marvin Harrison Jr. Outside of if you want
to make the argument for Nico Collins. I
don't think they're doing it like Marv.
So having him on this team is an absolutely great addition.
Something now I want to bring up.
This is what the current wide receiver room is looking like
for the Houston Texans following the Marvin Harrison trade.
So it's a pretty stacked room.
It's a pretty crowded room, I will say that.
Nico Collins, Marvin Harrison Jr., Tank Dell,
Kayshawn Booty, and Jalen Nolan.
Obviously, I think we have a few guys on our practice squad
as well, but those are our five guys right now
at the wide receiver position. And it's great.
This is a great wide receiver room.
I think CJ Stroud has plenty of options
in a year where he's demanding $60 million a year.
He's got plenty of options
and I think that's going to be great for him.
So it's great, man.
It's good to have Marv on this team.
It's good to see him fit in with that offense.
Now, I want to ask you guys,
do you think the Houston Texans
can still make a playoff push?
Because I think they can.
Looking at the strength of this schedule
that we have over the next five games,
these are all winnable games,
given I know a lot of people are going to say,
hey, our first four losses were winnable games.
I get that.
but man if once the Houston Texans now they
finally got some momentum right we had talked
about it before it doesn't matter if it's against
the Tennessee Titans it doesn't matter if it's
against the 2017 0-16 Cleveland Browns getting
a win underneath your belt really brings some
momentum brings a boost to this team it's exactly what
the Houston Texans got on Sunday and I think
that's important than more than anything
is them finally saying okay we can win we can finally eat
like D'Amico Ryan said in the locker room how does it feel
to eat these guys can finally get a win
And I think that's what is going to benefit this team the most.
This is what we're looking at, man,
over the course of the next five games.
So we play Jacksonville in London this upcoming Sunday.
It's going to be an interesting game.
Jacksonville, they're a team that thrives in London.
Don't ask me why, but Jacksonville
is always playing overseas in London,
and they're always doing pretty well.
They just came off a win against the Philadelphia Eagles,
where you can never count out Jacksonville.
I still think that's a winnable game for Arizona, for the Houston.
I think you go out there
and you make a statement winning the divisional round,
just like we did this past Sunday, you got some momentum.
Then look at these next four games, all totally winnable games.
Giants, kind of struggling this year.
They just had a really weird game where they ended
in a tie this past Sunday against Washington.
The team is definitely beatable.
The Chargers, 0-5 this season,
one of the only teams that hasn't had a win.
That's definitely a winnable game.
I know Justin Herbert has been struggling this year.
I know that offense has been struggling this year.
Still, definitely a winnable game.
The Cleveland Browns, they were obviously
starting to get some momentum together.
They were beating Pittsburgh.
They were beating Carolina.
They took an L to the Jets this past Sunday.
You know what that tells me?
They're a very beatable team, and they still have a kryptonite.
The Indianapolis Colts.
That's a game that just skated by us that our offense was not rolling.
I think our offense is going to start rolling now,
and I think that's going to be a great
win for us.
I can see the Houston Texans realistically, guys.
Not kidding.
I can see Houston winning the next five games,
getting back on track, and finally being at
the top of this division once again where they belong.
I can see it, man.
the Houston Texans just need to get some momentum going
which I think they did this past Sunday when
they beat the Tennessee Titans but thank you guys
so much for watching today on Texans Digest
man we're going to dive into it later throughout
this week how this offensive line has benefited
how this team's logistics are going to work out now
with Marvin on the team but right now the
Houston Texans are in a great spot thank you guys
so much for watching today on Texans Digest
have a great day have a blessed day I'll see you guys tomorrow
