We didn’t plan for any of this.
One moment we were driving through the dark, just talking… and the next, we hit something that stopped everything. The silence that followed wasn’t just from the crash — it was something deeper.
She didn’t say a word. I didn’t know what to say.
And then something happened on that bridge. Something I’ve never forgotten.
This is the story of that night — the crash, the stillness, and the quiet moment that changed everything between us.

I just want to love you, just want to hold you, just want to be with you till we grow old.
Just tell me you'll stay or take me away. I want you for myself every single day.
You set my world on fire.
Welcome back to the channel. My name's Matt. I'm Anne. We have a story. And it's a good one.
So we left you last week. I was driving you home, back to your house, and something happened.
And we got a lot of responses in the comments. But before we get into that,
thank y'all so much for all of the overwhelming support. Y'all are absolutely incredible.
Thank y'all so much for supporting our channel. And just thank you so much for all of the subscribers.
Yeah, we are at what? Over 1100 now. Yeah. It's been awesome. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
It's so incredible that we're able to be able to tell y'all our story and share it with y'all.
And don't worry, y'all. We're going to be getting into some more nitty gritty stuff about courtship
and all types of other things like that after we get done telling our story.
So you're going to want to subscribe. Yeah. So you can get all of it and hit the notification button
so you can know when we have another upload. Yeah. But don't worry, we're going to get into all of that stuff.
We definitely will. Just a little bit later on after we get done telling our story.
So we left off. I was driving Anne home. I was playing. I was playing I'm Amazed by the Clarks.
You can look it up on YouTube. Funny enough, we had that song at our wedding. We did.
So we were playing that. We were like both singing to it and everything like that.
And of course, we had a chaperone in the car. Both your brothers. Both my brothers in the back.
We were driving back and we were probably halfway home. Halfway home.
And I was like looking at you because I always used to do that. Yeah, you used to.
Now we now we can just like hold hands in the car. But back then we couldn't.
So I was just looking. Yeah, you were just looking at me. And then we were driving.
It was dark. We went into a little like ravine type thing. It like went down and dipped and came back up.
So it was pretty steep. So all you could see when we got to the bottom was like road going back up.
And all of a sudden, out of nowhere, this thing just like jumps over the front of the car.
And like it all happened so fast, but it felt like kind of slow motion.
Because like instantly, my brother James, he saw it first and he was like, Matt, Matt, deer.
And then you're like, oh, I literally went, Matt, there's a deer.
Boom. You hit it here. The car hit. You heard it hit the car. Yeah.
And you're like, yeah. And I mean, I smashed on the brakes and we came to a stop.
It all happened like so fast, really quick.
So we got out. I got out and I started assessing like the damage of like how much it had hit the car and like everything like that, because it was a rental car, too.
And of course, we brought two vehicles up there. We rented two vehicles. Some it was a nicer kind of Buick.
And then, of course, this fancy Cadillac. Yeah. And it was like this custom color and everything like that.
Beautiful car. Love driving. It was awesome. But like, of course, we had to hit a deer in the nice car.
Yeah. While I was driving my girlfriend home. So I was like, that's that's just great.
And you were like, today's video is brought to you by Native Our Families Little Farm Shop.
We have organic, unpasteurized, raw honey in all types of different sizes.
And also there is some creamed honey on there. It is incredible.
And on anything you put it on, we have some organic, locally roasted right up the street coffee, all types of delicious coffee.
And we personally drink it every single day. We are the biggest customer of our own coffee.
And we have all types of teas and different things on our little family's shop.
So go check it out. That is the best way to support this channel.
Another incredible way to support this channel is by subscribing, hitting the like button and leaving a comment and watching all the way to the end of this video.
That is something for free that y'all can do. And it helps us out immensely.
Back to the video. In shock. Yeah, I was like, didn't say anything.
Yeah, I was so upset at myself because I'm like, now she thinks like, I don't know.
I didn't because it's not like it's my fault or anything, but I felt like responsible.
But it was an act of God because no airbags went off. No sensors went off.
The whole corner of the car, though, the whole front where the headlight and everything was, was crushed in.
But somehow like the front headlight still works. And anyway, I was able to keep on driving.
I didn't even say anything. I just kept driving, got to your house because we were only a couple miles away.
Everybody was just silent. You were like super like, I don't know, like, yeah, you really blamed yourself.
Yeah, it was. I don't know. I was just being so cautious that that night.
I was like, I'm going to set it to 45 because up in the Midwest, all the streets are like 40 miles an hour.
So I'm like, I'm going to be a good boy. I'm not going to go. Texas speed go like 75 miles an hour.
I'm going to set it to like 45, 50 miles an hour.
The speed limit and just cruise on home because I got a pretty girl to look at the whole way.
But yeah, anyway, so that didn't help that. It just it killed the mood.
We were saying it is a funny thing. If anything, I look back. The music stopped.
The music stopped. It literally when it hit the deer, the music died.
Pause. Yeah. Pause. And it didn't turn back on. No, it absolutely stopped, which was a weird.
It was so weird. It was like amazing grace. Boom.
So anyway, so we got I got you back to your house. You were distraught.
You didn't even say anything to me. You didn't even say bye or anything to me.
Maybe you did. I might. You might. I just kind of. I don't think so.
I was so freaked out. Nerved up. She thought I was going to be in so big trouble with my parents because she's just starting to learn about my parents.
Yeah. And she doesn't know that like this is like classic Matt, like classic.
Like if anything bad is going to happen, it's going to happen to me. I learned that now.
Yeah. So it's like always something. And my parents are like very merciful and gracious.
She thought when I got back home, they were going to be like livid. Yeah.
And everything like that was a rental car. It was a rental car.
And I don't know if they would think that you're being foolish because you were kind of.
I mean, you're watching me, but you're watching the road. Yeah.
Yeah. But like I had my cruise control set and everything.
You're not used to the Midwest. No, I'm not.
They're like when I came down here, it's like insane. There's like no deer.
There's very little. And you can go 70 at night.
And they and they behave themselves to like if you see them more or less, they're going to stay there.
The ones up there in the Midwest, they're like they just jump in front of your car.
They see you going down the road. But I remember getting back to my cabin and like texting you like, oh, I'm so sorry.
And everything like that. And you're like, oh, man, I hope your parents aren't upset about it or anything.
So. So what went over when you told your parents how that go?
Oh, they were just thankful that nothing happened to us.
That's just the moral of the story. I mean, that's they were just so thankful that nobody got hurt.
Airbags didn't go off and everything like that. You know, like you can replace the car.
But then I like I they were perfectly fine about it.
But I'm like, I'm distraught because I'm like we were at the dealership.
We were at the rental place. And this whole time, like the second the deer I hit the deer.
This this video starts playing in my head of my dad talking to the rental guy and the rental guy says, hey, do you want insurance on this car?
It's 200 bucks.
My dad says, nah, I don't need insurance on this car.
And I'm like, he hasn't been in the Midwest either.
Why didn't he say yes to the 200 bucks? I'm like, I would have paid it.
But anyway, crazy turn of events.
God was behind everything. And I was stressing out for like about a day or so.
But we have Texas Farm Bureau not sponsored the best insurance in the world.
And they're awesome. They're incredible.
And they called them and they're like, oh, yeah, with that rental company.
Actually, we were partnered with them.
And even though y'all don't have insurance with them or anything like that, we'll fully cover the car.
So it was just it was the biggest blessing ever.
So it was very scary.
I yeah, we hardly said so.
We went home and we were just standing there looking at.
And I think one of your brothers made a joke and I kind of snapped at him.
And I was like the first time I ever like snapped at one of your siblings before.
I forget what he was saying. He's being just.
Yeah, whatever. Like they're like, oh, so cool.
You know how teenage boys are. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I was scared that you're going to get in trouble and you were scared that I was upset at you or something because I didn't say anything.
I was like mortified.
And then my parents came home and then you just kind of looked over at him and you're like, we had a deer.
My dad's like, you did like he gets this big old expression on his face.
He's like, really? And they went and looked at it and stuff.
And I just like kind of like turned away.
I'm like, I think we just told each other bye real quick.
And I just walked inside the house and I went downstairs to our bedroom and I fell on my bed and sobbed.
So then, OK, so that was an eventful Monday night.
Yeah. And then we Tuesday rolled around and we just hung out, had a slow day, board games, did all types of stuff over at the cabin and just chilled out.
And then Wednesday rolled around.
Yep. And that was the day we decided to do pictures for like our like courting time.
Didn't see that coming.
Yeah. So there are some beautiful spots up there that we picked.
So you came over to our house because mom took the pictures.
But I remember I was wearing the same red polka dot dress.
Yeah. And but I did have my hair curled.
And then mom and I were going back and forth like, should I have my hair curled? Should I not have my hair curled?
And then I think I finally asked you, do you want me to have my hair curled?
And he said, yeah. So I went, what? In the bathroom.
And it took like 20, 30 minutes because I have a lot of hair.
And then when I came out, you kind of just like looked at me like, aw.
Then we went off and we took photos.
Yeah, we went to.
Some courtship photos.
Yeah, we went to, we went.
There was a bridge.
Something happened on the bridge.
So if you replay the start of the video, y'all, those photos that you see that aren't our wedding photos with Anne in the polka dotted dress.
Those are our courtship photos, at least a couple of them.
And there's like one of us on a bridge.
There's a really pretty bridge there.
Yeah.
And there was one with a really pretty fence.
Yep.
Like a barn in the background.
Yeah, but it was, it was, it was all, it was all so like awesome because it was like early morning.
The sun was rising.
So it was like shining through really pretty.
And then, you know, I've been filming and taking photos and stuff like that for almost a decade now.
So I was able to help your mom out and be like, oh, yeah, just like that, you know?
And then then also she had a bunch of experience taking photos, too.
So it was a lot of fun.
So and then you and your mom had some poses that you picked out the day before and it was just a lot of fun.
Yeah. What did you do on the bridge?
So anyway, so what did I do?
What did I do on the bridge?
I don't even know if all of our parents know what I did on the bridge.
He did something on the bridge.
Dump, dump, dump.
And we're not, I'm going to tell it to you, too.
We're not leaving that as a cliffhanger.
So don't, don't worry about that.
So so we were posing and we're posing.
Yeah, we were posing and you were like here and I was beside you and your hair had moved over your ear.
Yeah, I think it was like it wasn't like.
Because it was all down.
All your hair was down.
It was down, but I think it like went behind my shoulder.
Something like that.
Yeah.
Or behind my ear.
Instinctly, I was like trying to get you ready.
But just I don't know why I did it, but I just like instinctively just like moved your hair aside or whatever.
Yeah, that's what he claims.
That's what I claim.
I say he just wanted to touch it.
Did you, this is the moment of truth.
Did you want to touch it?
Did I want to touch it?
Yeah.
I want to touch it, yeah.
But also, also, it wasn't really that I just moved it out of like brotherly love.
I was just like trying to, I wasn't trying.
You also fixed my dress when we were sitting down.
I did, I did.
I did fix your dress because it, we had to because the bridge was wet.
So you had a hunting vest that you were sitting on and we didn't want part of the orange hunting vest to stick out.
So I had to move your dress over it.
But then, didn't you like look at your mom or something like that?
Maybe.
Something corny or something happened.
I think, I don't know if she was like looking at her camera and she didn't see or I don't really remember.
When I moved your hair.
I don't really remember face, but I know I got this like kind of like fuzzy little feeling.
Oh dear.
Like he touched it.
Oh dear.
That's kind of romantic for a girl.
If the guy touches your hair, that's really romantic.
It was like in the moment.
It wasn't like anything, but then when you're, I guess when you're talking back about it,
like thinking back about it, it's more romantic in your mind than in the moment.
Or just thinking about it being like, aw.
Even if it was just to like move it out.
But got all of our photos taken.
So Thursday rolled around.
It was a happy but sad, sad day.
It was very sad.
It was a very sad day.
Y'all's family came over early in the morning.
It was around.
I think you guys were leaving around like 10 or something.
Yeah.
So it was around like nine-ish or so when y'all came over and me and Ann went on a walk around the pond.
One last time.
And Chico went with us.
Yeah, she was holding your hand.
Because I felt really sad.
Yeah.
And so we walked completely around the pond right before y'all were gonna leave.
Yep.
And we know like both of us like were crying.
Yeah.
And I just remember that you were like really trying to like assure me that you were gonna be back.
Yeah.
That's why I kept telling you.
I was like, I'm gonna be back for you.
Yeah.
You know, you don't have to worry about it.
You know.
That like kept reassuring you.
That's why I gave you the ring too.
Yeah.
Yeah, because you're like.
Yeah.
I remember you saying that now that you say that.
All you have to do when you start to worry that I'm not gonna come back is look down on your finger.
And my promise is right there.
Yeah.
So.
It's really sad.
It was really sad day on that day.
Because I felt like that.
It felt like I was losing you again.
Like.
Yeah.
Because I had never like.
It's easier to not grow.
Yeah, you gave me your heart.
Yeah.
I grew very attached to you.
Yeah.
And I grew very attached to you too.
Yeah.
So it felt like our hearts were just like.
Getting ripped.
Yeah.
So.
That was one of the saddest days ever in our relationship.
Yeah.
That was a very, very, very, very hard day.
And that was the day I was just like, man, I wish that she was like right up the road.
Yeah.
You know.
But it.
Distance was good for us.
It was very good for us.
It slowed us down.
We needed.
God knew that he needed to put 700 miles in between us because we would have got into
all types of trouble.
Yeah.
If we weren't 700 miles away.
It went up.
And it was good for me too because learning how to balance a relationship and work life.
I already had a hard enough time.
My brothers can testify about that.
Trying to stay focused.
Because they would say.
I remember them saying.
You are perpetually like on your phone because you're like texting me and everything like
that.
Yeah.
And I just had to really work on myself of like, okay, I'm going to say.
I'm going to say.
Whatever.
At like lunchtime or whatever.
In the morning.
Be like, you know, how's your day going or whatever.
But that's it.
Like, you know, and it's really hard when you really love somebody, you know.
So we did that.
And before I left.
Yeah.
You motioned over to one of your sisters to go get something.
Yeah.
And I was like, what is she going to get me?
Yeah.
So I worked on this.
Because I'm like, I knew you're going to give me something.
I'm pretty sure.
And so.
You wanted to give me something.
I wanted to give you something back.
To remind me of you.
To remind me of him when he's gone.
And to have him be reminded of me when we can't see each other.
Or like be near each other and stuff.
So I worked on it.
After I met you, it didn't feel right.
So I had to redo it.
And I spent almost the entire night, Wednesday night, working on your gift.
Yeah.
Because I couldn't sleep anyway.
Because I knew you were going to leave the next morning.
And that was really going to hurt.
So yeah, I motioned to one of my sisters to go get it out of the car.
That is where we are going to leave it for this week's video.
We were already able to give you a couple juicy details into our relationship story.
And that's where we're going to cut it off for now, y'all.
Tune back in next week.
Our story keeps getting better and better.
And you just can see the Lord's hand in all of it.
We aim with our channel to help encourage the oldlyweds, the newlyweds.
And especially the single people out there.
Because we feel your pain.
Not long ago, we were single people.
I was single last year.
And I know for any men out there that are watching this, I know the pain.
And for any women that are out there watching this, I also know the pain.
But don't give up.
Don't give up.
And pray about it.
Trust God.
Surrender.
Somebody's out there.
God has prepared them just for you.
And it may take only a year.
I mean, the beginning of the year, we didn't even really know each other.
Anyway, y'all, just pray about it.
Seek the Lord.
Write it down.
Whatever wife you want or husband you want, it ain't going to hurt.
Write it down.
My mom wrote down what she wanted for a husband.
Yep.
I wrote down what I wanted.
God provided.
I wrote down what I wanted.
You're writing down your prayer for your spouse,
of what you want your spouse to be, to the Lord.
And then you look at it every day.
And it reminds you, that's the woman I want.
And then also, it gives you a goal in your mind, as a man or a woman,
to be like, that's going to be my spouse one day,
so I need to better myself every day.
And that's all we have for today, y'all.
Hopefully, it was an encouragement.
We love y'all so much.
Yep.
And hope that y'all will have a blessed rest of your week.
Alrighty, y'all.
Goodbye for now.
Bye-bye.
If y'all made it to the end of the video,
we always love giving y'all these little hashtags,
because it's so much fun.
Hashtag gift in the comment sections down below
to tell us that y'all made it all the way to the end of the video.
Love y'all.
Bye-bye.
