In a 2026 season with nine unique winners
and a new generation beginning to shape the future of the sport
as we know it, experience still shined in round one.
Today, 20 of the best in the world take to Ivy Hill yet again
for round two of the finale of the 2026 season, the Powerball Cup.
Holland did grab the birdie on the first hole.
Now Paige.
Paige, our only player in the field to play in all ten of the finals.
That's going to be inside the circle putting for birdie.
Yes.
Birdie's been very solid.
You kind of know what scores you need to get,
what holes you need to avoid.
Don't need to shoot 18 down here to shoot a hot round.
Nicely done.
Leading on that forehand in particular.
It's been bothering her.
She's been pulling it out when necessary.
Good advantage right there, setting herself up for the birdie putt.
that's a beautiful line
just picture perfect right
there now up to four jessica
Girty forehand what
a shot off the hay bale sit down don't do it
for Girty's going to be able to putt from inside the
circle now alan trying to skip up this hill her second shot
and that is going to do it picture
perfect right there talked about this being
a really tricky green with that sand trap on the
back side. Missy, another player,
not swaying too far from the game plan when it comes to
disselection. That one's just inside the circle.
Player's making easy work of the pull three. Scoggins
needs it to swing.
Swing it will, and a little bit of roll towards the basket.
Three exceptional
shots. It'll be interesting to see
which one is actually the closest to the pin. Pin high for
Birdie. She's still going. Three down through four.
That's a mistake. That feels like a kick in the
stomach. I'll go in. And Girty, she's going to make the correction.
That's her third shot. She's
going to tap in birdie. Yes. Brutal.
A couple of holes on three and four. Katrina really good at
anchoring the back foot on these uphill shots.
You saw it right there. Such good body control.
Great analysis right there,
Brian Hanley wants
to helicopter.
Just fall straight.
Sarnen for
birdie. Yes.
Beautiful cut stroke that we know from Silva.
Up to the seventh. Very beautiful
par three. Hanley.
It is such a fun shot to
watch. Very reminiscent
of quite a few holes that we see on tour.
Gerthy. After the beautiful
shot from Hanley. Let's see if this comes in
nice and nestles. I do love the swing
out. Beautiful. Good shot.
This is kind of an empty your bag kind of hole.
Even if you're playing a casual day. It would be.
Pierce. That was good.
It got that late flip.
That's just a classic Paige Pierce line right there, beautiful shot.
Surely is.
Got it.
Great putt right there, doing a good job
of taking out that backdrop, knowing she's
made that putt over and over.
Another clean stroke, low strong side.
Silvas definitely made an impact on our scene at just 23,
double major, multiple major winner,
incredible role model for our women and girls.
Scoggins in the basket for birdie,
she's going to be the solo leader now.
Sarnen over the water and nicely done.
You have to find that feeling of what the game originally
made you feel and cling
on to it. Gannon, the lead
is three now for Scoggins.
Now to the fairway of
the eighth, Han Hanley looking for three birdies
in a row if she can grab this one. I think that's
going to do it. That'll do it.
Talk about a nice flip up. That was nice.
Yeah, nice adjustment right
there. Throwing uphill. Important to try
to throw something a tiny bit more understable so you can
get it to flip up right a bit more on the glide
then finish Jessica Girthy now second shot on nine
down the fairway that is just fine just outside
the bullseye tricky looks for circle two for the
rest of the card trying to push this farther oh yeah
that's what we're expecting to see from this
lead card especially with hole nine being
a 56 percent birdie rate nine players in the field
have carded the birdie
and that's it elevator down
to the basket 10 second
shot down the hill
backstop uh yes second shot she's gonna get standstill all
the way there it's so impressive
the hit in a standstill is exactly where all
your power comes from run up just allows you to have a
little bit more nicely done from Silva what a shot keeping it
so controlled with that standstill
I think it was Jonas Morella, the coach of Team Finland,
who had done a big launch monitor study on standstill versus the run-up
and found approximately, with professionals,
80% of the power of a run-up for the standstill.
So not that much lost.
I would say, I mean, I'm glad to put numbers
to that because that's how I always felt also.
That's how I taught.
That's what I kind of felt as a player on there.
My standstill took away a lot of the...
That was a great shot of the day.
Sorry, I'm talking on that.
I lost my train of thought watching it.
I should have just used it.
Well, that's a one-shot energy replay for Jessica Girthy.
Chance to tie the lead.
You bet.
She's gotten five of the last six.
Silva, that's the shot.
That's a chance for her sixth birdie in the last seven.
Putting the pressure on the card.
Owen said, you know, the only thing I wish for for these young players
is that they learn to enjoy themselves,
and I hope that they're having fun out there.
Gannon, got it.
Birdies are fun.
Birdies are fun.
Missy hasn't been a great day,
but it seems like she's having a great day.
Scoggins.
Sick birdie putt.
Great answer with Silva's disc airing at own under the basket.
Holland on the 13th.
Well inbounds.
Hanley's second.
And that will do.
And to the green now on the par 5, 14th.
Hanley.
Oh, yeah.
Sticks it.
Well done.
Holland's found a great groove out here.
James Proctor had a spit-out roll away from the bullseye's edge.
It hurt me.
It hurt me as a player.
It hurt me as a viewer.
Katrina sticks it.
And now Silva, you saw Owen very nonchalantly lay up.
She's going to play for that par.
Owen's really locking into her conservative play.
I want Silva to have some breathing room
as she negotiates through the course.
Got it.
Dead center.
Huge putt right there.
Like, pretty much like this, right?
They're pretty much just trying to see
if that 8x11 sheet of paper extends back and
a disc is what, 8-9 inches, roughly.
I say yay.
I think she has to put her foot in there.
Yeah, I mean, it's kind of like, I think it's okay there,
I think, actually, like, how can
we gonna run from here, right?
It should be just like, yeah, right.
We're never guaranteed a run-up.
Right, right, right.
So is it safe enough for me to go there?
Yeah, yeah.
You don't mark it or anything, but you have to be like...
Yeah, but that's the thing that I'm saying is like,
you're pretty much...
They're just having a discussion.
I'll do what you want to do.
He's very close.
It's not like the safety of the player is being compromised.
It looks like she can take a legal stance behind the disc.
And when you can, you must.
You know, next year they should just, you know,
line that with some hazard rope.
This is good.
She's actually dribbling her toes over the hole,
so that makes sense to shorten the gap.
That is fine for Ohm.
Yeah, good stick right there.
Just hasn't been able to keep up the same pace
that Scoggins and Saarinen have been on.
Ohm, another sidearm.
That will do from Ohm inside the circle.
Silva's going to slide it up there.
Very well done.
Great read right there by Silva going against
what we normally see her do, which is doing the standstill.
I think the fans are very happy that both divisions
are out here playing together in the same courses.
Holland-Hanley.
Bang!
From the drop zone.
So, yes, that must have been out of bounds
because we saw the action on that disc.
We're not quite sure where that actually ended up.
But we do know the result.
Missy.
She's got to go.
Green flag.
What a shot.
Replaced by this woman right here.
Holland, her third shot.
Up to the pin.
Almost in the basket for Eagle.
that is a drop in bullseye birdie there's a birdie
that we need to crack 18 open i will say he is the
reason i even thought being a commentator in disc golf
was a possibility huge shout out to him and
now Silva off the cart path and that is inbounds way up
the fairway a chance for her to get up and
down to get to nine trying
to solidify a really solid round
and she did it bullseye birdie it's
going to take her to nine down a single bogey
and OB shot.
Round number two of the Powerball Cup
is complete and some shake-ups
on the leaderboard.
I'm Holland Hanley.
