It's Saturday on the Disc Golf Pro Tour.
We're going to send it down to Terry Miller. It's time
for the Powerball Ace.
20,000 up for grabs. Take it away, Terry.
Good afternoon, everyone. We are
so excited. Powerball has been such
an incredible partner through our entire season, and we have
one last chance at our Powerball Ace.
There's $20,000 on the line. We started with $5,000 back
in Brooksville. It hasn't been hit.
And then when it came down today, we rounded it up. So we're up
to $20,000. Yeah, let's give it up for Powerball, everyone.
$20,000 on the line. And with that,
we're going to start with our first contestant.
I need some details. Where are you from? What's
your name? What are you throwing?
Gary Gearhart Jr., Percival, Virginia. I'm going to throw a
Toro. I'm a forehand dominant.
And luckily, the basket has been moved to where I need it to go.
All right, he was doing research earlier, but then they moved it.
He's all ready to go. Gary, take into the tee for $20,000.
We need it to drop, drop, drop,
and it's going to be off the mark.
Hazard, bunker.
All right, thank you, Gary.
Step on up. Name, what are you throwing, where are you from?
Tom Sheehan, Maggie Valley, North Carolina.
Play with the Haywood County Disc Golf Group. Shout out to them.
I've got a Latitude 64 Fury.
You're ready to go, Tom, with the Fury.
Let's see it taken to the tee of hole one for $20,000.
Have you guys seen a shot go in for 20 grand before?
Here's
your chance.
The lefty turns it over,
skip up, roll around.
Come on back.
All right, not quite on the mark for Tom.
All right, step on up.
All right, what are you throwing?
Where are you from?
Give us your name, all good.
Stephen Cullinan. I'm from Morgantown, West Virginia.
Shout out to my mountain goats.
I'm indecisive, so I'm either throwing Latitude Savior
or Latitude Pioneer. We're going to find
out when I walk up there. All right, let's see it.
Step on up. Not much time to decide.
Coming back. Fighting. Fighting back. Can we get it?
Deep. All right, that's a good wind read,
though. Come on up. All right.
Name, what are you throwing, and where are you from?
All right, my name's Austin Green. I'm going to throw a Discraft Zone,
and I'm from Garner, North Carolina.
All right, Austin, the green's right there.
Let's see you put it in for $20,000.
The wind dies.
He needs it to drop.
Get down. Austin, too much.
All right, come on up. Hello, hello.
Your name, what are you throwing, where you're from?
Hi, my name is Shawna. I'm from Lynchburg,
Virginia, and I'm going with the runway today.
All right, we've got a local, Shawna from Lynchburg.
Our last chance at $20,000.
Let's see it, Shawna.
Not enough fight
for it to come back.
All right, let's give it up for all our contestants.
Thank you so much to Powerball.
$20,000 was on the line today, but since it wasn't hit,
we're going to have a Ring
of Fire-inspired putting competition tomorrow
right here out at Ivy Hill.
it's taking place, go on out to dgpt.com slash putt.
$10,000 will be on the line. So someone
can make a putt for $10,000 tomorrow.
Yeah, welcome in everyone. Excited to share some of
the details that we're going to see for our Powerball putt.
The Powerball Ace wasn't hit
this year, but the money isn't going anywhere.
We're just going to divvy it up a little differently.
So that means $10,000 is on the line today, along with a couple
of VIP passes for next year when we kick off the tour.
But $10,000, so we have 20 putters.
They've all been identified.
They have matching names to matching numbers,
so we'll know who is linked to everyone.
Everyone's going to get their first chance at the first putt to throw.
Anyone that makes it moves on.
And once you've moved on,
then we'll reduce that size to whoever has made it.
and from there we'll keep going until we have just one person
that's made the putt they will
be winning ten thousand dollars plus those VIP tickets
so if you miss you're out now if we have
10 people who make it on the first try out of the 20
those 10 move on if none of those 10 make it
they still get to repot we don't bring everyone back
in so that's where it's a little different
than maybe a ring of fire you're used to back home at your tournament
so it's crucial every
chance make every single putt we might
be putting ten thousand dollars in your pocket are our putters
ready yeah they're geared up
but we're gonna have Max come over here Max you're gonna count them
down just to ice you guys a little bit all right
who's gonna make it come on let's hear it all
right here's Max with the call i want to see
who's winning 10 grand are we ready three two one putt
One, two, three. Incredible. All right.
All right. It looks as if we have two people
and we are going
to get confirmation. Two people.
That means we already know one of two people will be taking
home the $10,000. Thank you to the other 18.
We're going to get everyone situated. The biggest putt
of their life, I'm guessing.
We immediately go from 20 to two.
We're gonna have Max come in for the call.
He'll do the official countdown.
This is gonna be for 10 grand, Max.
Let's hear it.
Let's do it.
Three, two, one, putt!
Okay, with that, they are still our two finalists.
We're gonna keep going until one of them makes the putt.
That was warmup, right, Max?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, get a practice putt.
A practice putt.
How far are they putting from, Max?
They're putting from just outside of circle one.
All right, so jump putts are legal.
We're seeing a few of those.
Again, it's going to be $10,000, Max with the call.
Three, two, one, putt.
All right, all right.
We've got some time before MPOT's off, but not too much.
High pressure, big money, a single putt.
Max with the countdown.
Three, two, one, putt.
$10,000.
They both had their chances.
All right, we'll see if we can get them over here in just a moment.
Might be looking for a sponsorship if he doesn't have one already.
$10,000.
Hold up that check.
All right, let's start.
What's the name?
Graham Clawson.
Graham, right away,
how does it feel to know that you just hit a putt for $10,000?
It's actually insane.
I don't know if there's some videos of me putting online,
and it's kind of crazy that I actually won some putting things.
So you're saying putting isn't your specialty?
Is that what you're trying to tell us?
I mean, yeah, I wouldn't say that I'm like the best putter ever.
So it's kind of crazy.
I won something.
All right.
Well, you're a $10,000 winner.
What are you going to do with the rest of this afternoon?
Can you even focus on other golf?
Yeah, I don't even know.
My wife and my daughter are out of town, unfortunately, right now.
But luckily, I'll definitely be able to get her a really good birthday
and Christmas present this year.
So I'm excited about that.
All right.
You'll have to let me know if we're going
to any local establishments for lunch
or some celebratory dinners, perhaps.
Is that on you?
Yeah, of course, of course.
All right, Graham has done it.
A $10,000 putt thanks to our friends at Powerball.
Congratulations, buddy.
Congratulations.
